It's definitely spring in my business worlds. It happens every year, I always want everyone to be ready to go January 1, but it takes until the end of March for the serious queries to begin. This year I used that mostly-down time to work on some of my own longer-range projects and they are shaping up.

I emailed a customer/friend who used to work at the IRS. She's an accountant, doesn't do taxes, but is willing to answer questions. She explained it in a way that I kind of understand. Last year my net profit was 0. So it looks like I can only carry forward. I asked her for more specifics, that a 5 year old could understand.

This is your business so you are allowed to do whatever you want with it. If you don't want to use Instagram, then don't.

I completed the chart and mapping! Now, I have a clearer idea of my direction and what I need to do in the next year. My north star is “sharing”. Amazingly, “sharing” fit so nicely with where I want to be with the business and my life right now!

Oh, I'm so sorry you are feeling like this. Taxes are not fun.

I think you should ask an accountant to make sure you will make the right decision. Another question to ask, If you choose to go back for 5 years, can you turn around and then go forward for the rest of the NOL.

What's going well?
My April subscription pattern is published, one pattern is ready to go next Saturday and I might publish another pattern this week. The trade fair last week was fun. And I just spend a relaxing day at a LYS, working on my shawl.

@jess-cook Yes, I get lots of good ideas in the shower, too. I usually take a notebook upstairs with me when I'm getting ready in the morning, in case I need to write stuff down so I don't forget it. 😄 I tend to get ideas when I'm driving, too.

I didn't even know there were apps like that! (Yes the book is Superbetter and I'm loving it). I download both apps to take a look at them… thanks @jess-cook
