Thanks @jill-wolcott and @penny-shima-glanz. Calendly will be the way to go in the future. So far Doodle is working okay, but it doesn't allow an option for my clients to put in their contact information, so I am flying blind. Luckily, there is plenty of room for me to put in my own contact info and they can contact me.

@mary-roth Can you use a habit tracker for Part B? A grid with a box for each day along the top and each task/habit/routine along the side that you tick off each day that you successfully complete the task. At the end of the week you can look back at your chart and assess how well you feel you did.

Nicole, I'm not on IG but what about tags from a buyer perspective, like #mynewbag, #lookwhatIbought or something in that direction?

@tara It's true, I do connect with other crafters, but I don't think I use their hashtags. It is people I meet in business groups on FB mostly. Other unfamiliar businesses that find me and follow me, I don't follow back.
You say, “Get a clear picture in your mind of your best bag-buyer and then find her on IG.” And that's my problem. I don't…[Read more]

@vicky-kooyman I have to look into groups. I would love to interact with people who really love my business. I'm not sure how to do that and what kind of group to form, just yet.
Making patterns is something I haven't thought about. I feel it lies in the lines of teaching somehow. I would love for you to test it someday. I'll keep it in mind,…[Read more]

@melissa-tompkins-stahl Thanks so much for chiming in. I do so appreciate it.
I used to do that too, posting on IG and letting it go through to Facebook (I don't have a Twitter account). But from a lady specialized in SM I heard it is better to make posts for each platform separately, because of the different ways of engaging with people on the…[Read more]

What's going well? My communication with vendors, getting ready to move into the space, starting to order inventory!
Whatcha working on? I'm slowly but surely chipping away at my giant list of administrative tasks that need to be done in order to meet my projected soft open date of May 16; the biggest step was purchasing my POS software and most…[Read more]

@mary-roth, I think your ideas for part B are great. A daily checklist – even just starting with three or four items that you can write or tape into your planner as a fold-back page, maybe? – is a great way to make sure you're getting your most important tasks done. As you make those first-level tasks automatic as part of your daily routine, then…[Read more]

@di-cannone, that's great!! I have the same sort of need to completely physically engage in some kind of activity to let my mind do its thing for solving tough questions.

Thanks so much everybody! (I haven't used the forum much, and I guess I hadn't “subscribed” to my initial post, so I didn't notice there were responses – oops!)

I ended up signing up for the monthly. I needed more than 2 events. It pops everything to iCal (often an issue) and sends me an email.

Heya all! I haven't been around the forums a ton, but I thought I would pop in now that (hopefully) life is slightly less chaotic…
I'm just starting map making for Q2, and in chat today (thanks to Tara's homework assignment) figured out that my goal/focus is deceptively simple: I need to A) define and write out a very-specific task list of…[Read more]

Like everyone said, Nicole, you're certainly allowed to stop doing.
That said, I think your customer base is DEFINITELY using Instagram…you're just not connecting with her there. I don't have your IG account handy, so this is all off the top of my head:
If crafters are connecting with you, is it because you are connecting with them? (Using…[Read more] -

See if your local library has tax time … i'm not sure if they'll do things more complicated than helping fill out a 1040EZ but at all the library branches here there are people providing assistance. {hugs} i'm very thankful that eli's business pays for our accountant (I pay for adobe creative cloud. 😉 )

what's going well
It's definitely spring in my business worlds. It happens every year, I always want everyone to be ready to go January 1, but it takes until the end of March for the serious queries to begin. This year I used that mostly-down time to work on some of my own longer-range projects and they are shaping up.
