I've been getting quite a few friend requests for my personal Facebook account from people who've seen me at my recent fiber festival and/or on other social media. I keep my personal page pretty locked down (since I'm usually posting about my kiddo) and only accept friend requests from people I know pretty well, and I don't plan to change…[Read more]

@sarah-walworth, you wrote:
“I am really struggling with my Q2 map” and “I am still trying to figure out what exactly I need to be doing every day to still have a life outside of work.”
I'm not sure what you might have listed for your Q2 goal, but I think that second sentence may be exactly what you need to work on this quarter. (So one of the…[Read more]

Going well? I am having to do very little active marketing now and still maintaining a great editing workload. @joeli-kelly ‘s marketing class in December helped me hone my ideal client and my last three new clients are just who I want to be working with.
Whatcha working on? I am really struggling with my Q2 map. I feel like my last two maps…[Read more]

Uncle.
I filed an extension. I found an accountant that a couple of people recommended who will take me if I call after May 1st. It's on my calendar.

Thanks for your input @ann-tudor. I think I also have to be patient. I'm the type of girl who wants it all and wants it NOW, haha 😉 I will keep on trying and see what works. And thanks to the Q&A of April I am a wiser person. Thanks again!!

Thanks for clarifying! 🙂 That's what I thought. I wouldn't dream of doing that.

I had a really successful fiber festival this weekend, better than I had projected. I've done some number crunching for expenses I know are coming up, and I realized something. I can actually pay myself!
I've been putting any money earned back into the business (mostly equipment such as an electric skein winder and whatnot) for the past two…[Read more]

What she means is that some people will actually copy and paste the information or download the images from another website without linking it. This happens often on FB and Pinterest. I have participated in a pod and have to agree with what article you linked and @sara-mccormick said. There is a spike in activity at first, and it is fun in the beginning to make some new friends. But the engagement numbers drop quickly as your feed becomes populated by pod posts. At the beginning, you get genuine engagement but it devolves into…[Read more]

@riin-gill BIG Hugs. This is rough stuff.
I filed an extension this year. It was very simple for me; my accountant had a list of people doing this, so I felt less guilty. Since I'd filed there before, all I did was ask on the phone and he's taking care of it all. I'll have until October to file and if I owe, the interest rate is something like…[Read more]

what's going well
Coffee. Seriously. If passover was the holiday of no coffee I'd be in deep trouble.
Seders with my inlaws went well, FIL decided to push my MIL's buttons instead of mine. It wasn't very pleasant but it could have been much worse for both of us. The first night the food was tasteless (my MIL is a terrible cook and refuses to…[Read more]

I don't know what you're saying here…probably because this is all so new to me. Or maybe there's a typo, and it's meant to say
“I'd rather have links thaN just have stuff taken” rather
“I'd rather have links that just have stuff taken” ?
I'm sorry to be so clueless!

I don't think there's enough time to find an accountant who actually has any openings this time of year. But I think it would probably be a good idea going forward. I'm not sure how to actually find one though. All of my friends who have businesses making stuff are in other cities or states. I need someone really local, i.e., someone I can get to by bus.
