@karen-robinson I've also found that Etsy doesn't drive many sales my way. Less then one a month.

I used to solely use Paypal because I like their dispute resolution process. Do your other payment providers offer the same service. (I ask this even though I've never had to use it in my business…)

I'm not a total newbie though. I should have known better. Sometimes I just forget though that some people, besides politicians, used car salesmen, and my dad, are deliberately dishonest. Grumble.

Thanks Jill, So I am thinking that is not very much money and not much name recognition. I might be better off to market the pattern myself, in this case anyway. I have been submitting to publcations for knit and crochet, but no takers as of yet..will keep trying.

@karen-george, you should get a more generous fee if they are taking the rights. A cowl sounds like a fairly basic thing, so you are probably looking at $100 to $200 fee. You have to decide if that works for you. Personally, I don't like to give away rights. Surprisingly, knitters rarely remember the designer. Think about what you put into it…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald, thanks for the reminder. I'm putting together a couple of knitting projects because I think I may have to jump on a plane in the next day or two. I am making sure I get out running, took a walk yesterday afternoon, and am trying not to have too high of expectations of myself.
