I do recommend getting someone to look over the paperwork for you if it might impact your taxes at all. But Mitch is double-cautious about everything.

Thanks, Jill. It seems that Texas is fairly straightforward and the fees aren't too terrible. (And if I'm reading it right, I don't have to pay franchise taxes unless my sales go over $1 million, so I think I'll be good there for a very long time!) It's the paperwork that I'm dreading a bit (also will need to go to my bank to make changes so have…[Read more]

I'm an LLC. I think the only downside is paperwork and fees.

Going well: Got the latest shipment of the yarn club out on Monday. It's still traveling to some people, but those who have gotten the packages so far seem to like the yarn. It's a new base so I wasn't sure what everyone would think about it.
Working on: I'm at the point where I think I need to make Round Table Yarns an LLC instead of a sole…[Read more]

@leigh-kristensen, I worked really hard to re-establish working relationships with my sibs over the past two years. The relationships are all still fraught, but we agreed on a common goal on the estate (only liquid assets, so that makes things much easier) so it is mostly a matter of rolling through the process.

I've been getting my drawstring cotton bags from State Line Bag Company. I know they do screen printing but I have not yet gotten my bags printed so I can't speak to the quality of the printing. (I just use a stamp.) But I am very happy with the quality of the bags themselves. (Having trouble getting this to post so I'm trying without the link to…[Read more]

I need recommendations for a US based project bag printer (the cotton drawstring kind that are screen printed) & a stitch marker maker (that could do something custom for the Outlander kit). I have people over here in the UK, but since we're moving, I need US recommendations.

Pretty shawl!
I'm a knitting podcaster and I also do knitting tutorial videos (although the two are technically separate things as each has its own YouTube channel).
I actually already have a tutorial for beading using a crochet hook if you'd like to check that out to see if you think it would be a good fit. I've also done videos on an i-cord…[Read more]

what's going well
Beautiful weather today for what feels to be the first time this year. I cleaned the patio table and am outside sitting on the deck and it's helped turn a week that wasn't going horribly terrible but wasn't being nice around. I've accomplished more in the past few hours than it felt like I had the other days…[Read more] -

I saw that today, too 🙂 I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan, and it somehow makes it better to think that even he feels this way!

Jane Purchase replied to the topic What do you think about SMS marketing? in the forum Engineering 8 years, 1 month ago
I wouldn't sign up for it personally (assuming I had a phone, which I don't), but I don't see the harm in setting it up for people who do want it. If it's clear that SMS marketing is what they are signing up for, then you have to assume that those people want it. You could always test it and see if anyone signs up, right? Assuming it's not a big…[Read more]
