how about which and that? There are so many annoyances, but it is mostly because people don't bother to proofread. On my phone, I'm as guilty as anyone. I'll start jotting them down!

The one I have to look up is lay/lie, which for some reason I have a block about.
“ect” for etc drives me nuts, and lose/loose, as well as “would/could of” noooo… I'm sure there are others, there are always others lol.

Hello Captains!
Today I opted in to a free giveaway from a business coach and she had misused the word “it's” on her final landing page/thank you page. The former English teacher in me gets twitchy in these situations, and it happens way too often – someone who's trying to sell me something uses a misspelled word or a grammatically incorrect…[Read more]

What's going well?
The fibre arts event fibrefeeliafest.ca seems to be going okay. Met the sign-ups for the workshops I was hoping for, but will likely have to cancel 3-4 workshops due to lack for sign-ups. Should have enough vendors for the market place.Whatcha' workin' on?
Trying to fit everything in! Attended a knitting retreat on the…[Read more] -

Whatcha workin on?
Today, I'll deal with some of the stuff I've been procrastinating on, in particular publish one of the two interviews on my neglected blog and take step photos for a pattern and for my technique newsletter. What’s going well?
I published a pattern last week, one pattern for tomorrow just needs two more clicks to be published, t…[Read more] -

Joeli,
I have heard really great things about the smaller agencies that really are there to help you grow a brand, but I have also heard bad stuff about the big ones that have thousands of people under them.
The contract I haven't even seen yet, which would be my next big concern, the content. The one year thing is a red flag I addressed and…[Read more]

Love this episode too!
My list is:
– I always ask myself “how can I inspire and empower my people?” or “is this inspiring and empowering for my people?”
– Personal connection is king. I ask “how can I make this more personal?” and focus on really talking with my people.
– A new one is the realization that there maybe somebody else making that…[Read more] -

Walk away. Really really walk away. Almost every one (well smaller channels) I know who's gotten into a contract with one has regretted it, not found them helpful at all. The big ones like Maker might be OK but basically anyone who approaches you is in general assumed to be not great. (Also contracts are dodgy, one wanted to restrict you to only…[Read more]

Hello! I have been contacted about 5 times over the past year or so by BBTV a youtube talent agency to partner with them. The way it works is they share your ad income 60/40 and in return you have access to a few major youtube tools like Epoxy, Viso catalyst and Epidemic sound. Also a one year contract. They are the largest youtube agency thus…[Read more]

I really enjoyed this episode too. It helped me to think about my productivity targets, how much stock I make, time spent on new ideas, and how much profit comes from each sale. I realised that if I make £100 profit from 100 superfans, that would be significant for me. This is an achievable goal for me, and will help me remain focused on my…[Read more]
