@jill-wolcott Oops, sorry for the confusion! I never think to click on the arrows; I just click the name of the list and it gets you to the same place.

As already suggested, I'd try to get in touch more directly, such as phone to figure out a timeline that will work for both of you.
Also, since you already know she is a little flaky, I'd have a backup plan in place in case something happens and she's not able to get her part of the materials ready on time to mail the kits.
Recently, a bag maker…[Read more]

@di-cannone, I did't understand your instructions. I finally figured out that I should click on the arrows on the right. I'm adding some screenshots here if anyone needs them (click on it to get the entire image).
I don't know how you add that to Ravelry! I'd love to know.

I think unless it is really a problem, @jess-cook, it is best to just leave it. No one proofreads like they should, people have different levels of language ability (ESL, etc.), and you do end up looking slightly unhinged. It will only make you angry when they email back “whatever” or “no worries”.
You do, however, have my full permission to…[Read more]

I'd hold off. Better disappointment now that problems later. But I agree with Tanja, it may be time to get on Skype or the phone to work it out.

My pet peeve is when people use ‘that' instead of ‘who'. For example:
This course is designed for people that run their own business
makes my left eye twitch. It should be:
This course is designed for people who run their own business

Thanks @jess-cook, I thought that was right, but have had several times when the customer insisted on having what I thought was wrong printed on a ribbon. Well- the customer is always right, as long as they pay for the order. 🙂

@jill-wolcott that's always my question – should I email the person and say “Hey, you used it's when you meant to say its on your sales page” – or does that make me sound like a pompous ass? 🙂

@susan-heyn it's James's. Unless there are two guys named James who are both having a birthday party. 🙂
Thank you so much everyone, this is great!! A lot of things I had forgotten about!

Hi, Karen. If you're starting from your dashboard, first click on “Lists” up at the top, then on the name of your list. On the list page, click on “Signup Forms” (in between Add Contacts and Settings). On the next screen, select “General Forms” and the link will be in a box on that page. I hope that helps!

Can you phone her and discuss things without an email delay?

That's a lovely idea, Jess! The “alot” is a classic. And there are a lot of BE/AE differences.

Hello!
I have been working with a maker for a few months now on a SAL and she just missed the launch deadline. I have been checking up on her every few days and she's been really great but also a little flaky. I know her life is busy at the moment but should I push back the SAL for her? Our projected launch date was June 1st but without any of…[Read more]

I always get confused by names ending with an “s”, such as James. Should it be James' Birthday Party or James's Birthday Party? I have had this come up several times when making printed ribbons for a customer

I want to add my sign up for my Mail Chimp newsletter to my Ravelry page. How do I know what that URL address is? Where do I find it in Mail Chimp?

Plural possessive nouns always confuse me!

Oh but Apple is terrible! It “helps” by correcting, even when you didn't make a mistake. Mitch gets so annoyed. I usually notice mistakes because it didn't feel right when I type–but on my phone that doesn't click because I'm using one finger.
There are so many misuses that annoy me to no end. I got an email yesterday from a company, that had…[Read more]

I sold out on my Grading Course! I may still get some additions through my TNNA Class.Whatcha Workin' On?
I'm feeling out of sorts today, but I suspect it is because I missed my blog yesterday, and likely won't get it today either. I knew that everything was going to catch up with me, and I guess it did. But hey! I sold out…[Read more] -

Ha-ha @linda-tieu. I can only remember it because I know it is the opposite of what I think it should be. Same with capitol and capital.
