@rachel-brooks Thank you so much!! I'm still working on it a bit, but I'll definitely make those changes. And thank you for the idea to add more copy – I'm terrible at thinking pictures speak for themselves and so my job is done haha.

@kristin-jones It's looking good! If you still want feedback, I think there a few slight tweaks I'd do:
Under
“Not sure if my patterns or Knit Alongs are for you?”
I'd write something like, “Look/see/read/hear/listen to what other knitters have said:” (but not quite that)
I'd also make the text under the FO pictures a little darker so it's…[Read more]

@rachel-brooks Ahh, that's great. I have 3 testimonials now that give some detail so I have those up, and I have 4 pictures that I have permission to use – I've messaged a few others so hopefully I'll hear back. Here's the work in progress page if you care to see: http://weallknithere.com/feedback/
Thank you so much for your thoughts, you've…[Read more]

@kristin-jones I agree with you that testimonials on people's websites can look too trite, or simply made up. Linking them to Ravelry – or another site you don't control – gives them more credibility, I think, even if the reader isn't a Ravelry member and doesn't click through. I think most project pages on Ravelry are private, aren't they, so…[Read more]

Thank you, ladies! @rachel-brooks, I actually know a few knitters who don't use Ravelry, and I really don't understand it – thank you for reminding me that they exist 😉 I might work on compiling a few different photos and reviews all linking to the user's Ravelry page. (I'll ask permission first, of course.)
@dana-gervais I've seen feedback…[Read more]

richelle replied to the topic what are people putting on business cards these days? in the forum Engineering 7 years, 11 months ago
i use District White Label for my business cards and postcards. you have to have a resale # to order. but they have premium biz cards for 15¢ each (50 min) and you can do two sided printing. they are really nice! http://www.districtwhitelabel.com
i do not put my number on my biz cards because i do not like to talk on the phone 🙂

Okay, here are my two cents. I spent a boatload of time trying different backgrounds, etc but most of the time, I came back to Black or White for product listings and then got creative for social media. I work on a table that has a lot of rust on it and love the texture and for my items, it work out well so I used that as well. I think the…[Read more]

Good job Karen! Maybe when you try the software again you could work on it over like 6 months and only work on it like every 2 weeks (if it's something you want to do down the road.) The fact that you were trying something this new and it's only put you 2 designs off is awesome.

I don't have a feedback page on my website. It has never occurred to me, but now that I've read your post @kristin-jones I'm thinking about it.

Hmm, I posted a reply to this and it disappeared, so here goes again!
Firstly, you're further along the line than I am, so I can only give my opinion as a knitter and visitor to websites. I'm designing the first draft my website at the moment, so your question comes at a good time for me, too – thanks. 🙂
Not everyone is on Ravelry – strange,…[Read more]

@karen-robinson Heh. You would not believe how much experimenting I've already done. I feel like I've taken 500 photos and still have nothing to show for it.

To be honest, I don't really like either option as far as the examples of the other shops that you posted. The first one (fabric) makes the jewelry just look dull against it. The colored backgrounds are better in comparison (so if I had to choose between these two, that's my choice), but I also don't think they really do much to make the charms…[Read more]
