Jess Cook replied to the topic Newsletters and a launch in the forum Engineering 7 years, 10 months ago
I would make the regular newsletter one of the launch newsletters, or skip it. I wouldn't send 4 emails in a week to the same list unless they were SUPER “hot” (aka, really likely to want more information about this product so they can buy it).
Like during a Starship launch Tara might send a few emails a week to the Early Boarding list because…[Read more]

Hi @elizabeth-floyd!
The answer to most of your questions is to do what your customers most want! I always recommend sending a newsletter at LEAST once a month, so people don't forget who you are. More than once a month depends on how much information you have to share, how often you're updating your shop, and how much your customers really want…[Read more]

My pleasure 🙂 I do have a blog which I use when I have something to say like a new product or a big topic I've researched. I use my newsletters to be more informal and chatty with my core folks on my newsletter lists. I tell them behind the scenes things, details about the how and the why a particular product came about,…[Read more]

Hi,
I was just wondering, with a launch coming up, besides the 3 launch newsletters that week, do you send out your regular weekly newsletter? Or do you incorporate that news in one of the launch newsletters? -

. how often do you send them out?
I try for weekly but often don't manage it, and there's usually at least 2-3 during the 8-day monthly Floating Gallery, though often a week apart.. what type of specific action requests do you make in them?
I try to ask people to go to the gallery, my shop, etc, and preferably with a specific thing (or small…[Read more] -

@shelley-husband Thank you!
So, if I understand what you shared, you do not have a blog, but instead your email lists serve in the same way a blog would with project updates? Also you have rotating themes which help you decide what you will be writing about. That is a really good idea.
. what type of specific action requests do you make in…[Read more]

how often do you send them out? – weekly to my main list and collection list, fortnightly to my new project update
. what type of specific action requests do you make in them? reply to a question, purchase a product, link to a blog post, affiliate link
. how many specific lists do you have? 3 – main newsletter, a collection specific one and a new…[Read more] -

. how often do you send them out? I send mine out once a month.
. what type of specific action requests do you make in them? In the newsletter I have a welcome blurb, one or two pieces of highlighted news and links to my videos of the month. So typically it's a sales item in the blurb and then watch my videos.
. how many specific lists do you…[Read more] -

Thank you so much for all of your help!! I learned how unprepared I was to make this sale (which will change in the future), but I came up with a homemade card and thank you note with a coupon code for the next purchase, paper flowers, and a detachable tag with care and fiber information. I'm off to order more branded items now because I know I'm…[Read more]

When I did physical I added my card, a handwritten note, any care or usage or content info.
I feel like there are two ideal routes.
Beautiful and mildly warm. Great branding and packaging. This is beautiful and gives you a high class feel.
The other is like a package from a dear friend. Handwritten, kind of homemade looking, extremely sweet.…[Read more]

I am launching the physical copy of my first book soon and I want to give a discount to people who've already got the digital copy.
How much off should I do?
For background: The book has been out for a few years, loads of people have a digital copy. I have always made it my thing to never run discounts or sales.

For July I pretty much just cruised along making bags. I met my productivity target, but not my profit target.
Over the last six months I've learnt that I can push myself much harder. I'm not as stressed and mentally fragile as I was when I left work four years ago. Also, if I don't meet a target, nobody is going to be bothered except me. I…[Read more]
