@joeli822874 – Your Newsletter is something along the lines of what I would like to be doing too. I send mine out weekly, but I could still do something short and sweet like that. Hmmm…..
@libby1665843 You said
Aren’t I supposed to design the business I want? Right now, blogging isn’t fitting in.
YES! That is what I keep saying. I hav…[Read more]

@ruth1492194, I'm so happy to hear the daily routine/structure is helping. Yes I have “daily planning” as a box to check off!
(and i hope there will be more for me to show soon about all this planning)
Don't worry about the 10th goal. Then again 9 is my favourite number. 🙂
And @libby1665843 snagged the sentence that resonates most to me as…[Read more]

Ohh, I love the Solstice Cardi! I can't wait to start @kathleen419793. I've found three possibilities for yarn in my stash.

Thank you @wendy-cholbi for all the work you are doing! Trying to please so many people is difficult but you're doing a great job and it's appreciated!
Love the group of beasts, I wonder if they're the same breed that keep eating my hard drives! I've had two fail in three years. Thankfully this last one is still under warranty!

You're right – I need to remember I've rebranded as a designer! Not a blogger anymore …

“I just need to figure out why I’m feeling so awful about it, why I’m struggling to find my path and why I’m so scared of it.”
You just summed me up in a sentence Ruth. I'm starting to wonder if it's the position of the planets. It's all so irrational. I'm worried that I'm starting to sound like a basket case!
It might not be what's happe…[Read more]

You are doing way more than I do, so I'm not an expert here.
But my way would be to listen to your gut feeling. Do what feels right and don't forget to have fun. You wrote in another thread that you are a designer. Maybe take that as a lead? You are not a blogger, not a newsletter-writer, not a podcaster. You are a designer who now and then shares…[Read more] -

Me too. I started another thread last night about my blog/newsletter. I would actually like to chuck blogging because I really don't think it's the be all and end all. I don't want to be just doing it because I'm supposed to. Aren't I supposed to design the business I want? Right now, blogging isn't fitting in.
I hope to see my newsletter replace…[Read more] -

Yay! Thanks @wendy-cholbi!
Everyone: I've shot a new video on using the discussion, to reflect the new pagination. If you've got any questions or need to see how anything Wendy mentions works, watch the video: https://youtu.be/RaGBbjNvqBE

I don't have answers but I'm in the exactly the same boat! I hate writing. Tara helped me with my newsletter to keep the writing part to a minimum. (You can see my format here, the only thing I have to write is a short “what's going on at Joeli's Kitchen” paragraph and I usually have something I need to tell them.)
My blog is just videos and…[Read more]

Ever since I was online in 1992-3 for the first time I have had a sort of website that included a blog of sorts. I always described what I was doing, shared my work and a bit about my family. Then in 1998 when I sold my first design, I discovered that I could not always do that. Contractual obligations whether they were to someone else or a…[Read more]

@sasha1206303 shall we talk yarn?
The original Solstice Cardi (attached) was knit in 800yds of Julie Asselin's Stella yarn (fingering weight with sparkle in the Diamant color – a blue-grey) for size 36″. I am grading the pattern (as we speak) for seven sizes from 28-52″ so will calculate out yardage by tomorrow but overall should range from…[Read more]

Whatcha workin on?
Everything, but it seems like nothing. I'm finding a lot of chaos around me at the moment so I'm trying to organize and clear up clutter to enhance whatever time I have to work on.
I've started a list of 2016 goals: there's 10 spaces and 9 are already filled in, I've got 4 personal goals and 5 professional ones, but I'm…[Read more]

Tanja Osswald replied to the topic Setting up a Yarn Club – tips/advice needed in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
I like how you treat this yarn club as a test run for many more to come. 🙂
Whether you give two options depends on how you set it up: Will club members pay the full prize for each yarn plus the prize for the pattern or will you make some sort of discount because they buy the whole bunch at once?
If the pattern is kind of thrown in, anyway,…[Read more] -

So, I'm thinking about next year: “the year of the sweater” and am dithering over how to reach my people. I simply cannot do everything no matter how much I'd like to or fool myself I can. Next year I want to work on and release garments. That's my big aim and it'll take lots of energy and I can't wait.
At the moment I speak to my folks in lots…[Read more]
