Corrina Ferguson replied to the topic Unique Coupon Codes for Email Opt In? in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
Ooh I should have reworded that. Since the coupon codes seem to be out (I don't have time to figure out the coding) it would either be for sale with a free download option if you join the list, or it would be only available as a free download from the list. It wouldn't be marked as “Ravelry free” just with the info about how to get it in the…[Read more]

The difference between the mile markers on your map and a To Do list – Re-posted from the old site:
Mile markers are the signposts you're going to pass on your way there, like you've made an appt with the first person. Or, you've met with the second person. You've completed your outline.
You see? A to-do is the stuff you have to actually do…[Read more]

I'd offer it with a price and have the coupon for a free download.
I don't quite understand your second option: Offer it for free but not offer it at all unless you have a coupon code? Not sure Ravelry supports that – but even if it is doable, you'll be bound to get a ton of emails, from puzzled to angry, about how to access your pattern. -

“I’m one of those people that is constantly thinking forward in my head. I stay so focused on moving ahead that I don’t allow enough time for the world to catch up to me. As much as it’s a strength it is also a weakness.”
This is so me too!

Yarnie folks, I'm going to send out a newsletter to The Sweater list next week with yarn suggestions because I don't want to leave that all to Episode Two, when we will cast on a sleeve a week later in Episode Three.
So far I know I'll mention @sasha1206303, @lisa1588548, @karen1089834, as well as Katie of Yarn Love, Cate of Infinite Twist, and…[Read more]

@linda53968 I want to wait 6 months because I have about 20 patterns that are in reformat phase at a graphic artist with my old business name. I don't want to put a halt on that since most if not all are in progress. I will leave everything prior to the name change with that old branding. I also want to rebrand colors, logo and all that stuff, So…[Read more]

I completely support a name change for you to just your name–and it's great that you already own that URL. To be completely honest, I've found your current name to be a bit confusing because it says “Knitwear” but you mostly work with crochet. So I think it's a great idea as you move forward with your business and focus.

I'm not sure that Handmade in NY adds information about you and your product or process. But if where you live is important to what you make, then I'd suggest being specific. For example, Handmade in the Catskill Mountains, or Handmade on the shores of Lake Onondaga, etc.

The trailer was great @kathleen419793! I can't wait to see episode 0 tomorrow. I really want to cake yarn but I'm going to wait until I see if I need more yardage for my size.

Ooh I have another opinion question for y'all. Would you offer the pattern with a price and a note that the coupon code will allow you to get it for free, or would you offer it for free with only with the coupon code?

Thinking about this further, I think you should put snippets of what you are going to say in your newsletter into your blog. That way, people that need it in bite size portions will still get the info. Just a thought.

Very interesting. I think you should go ahead with your name change. Especially since you took the time to so some research. Not sure why you are waiting 6 months. ?? Makes total sense to make the change.

…Has made me really start thinking.
As per my other post here I have decided that I am no longer going to blog big posts. Mine are going to be much more focused and photo heavy. I'm really working on social media changes too.
I have already started CYS for 2016, and I have really been soul searching. I am also reading Essentialism by Greg…[Read more]
