tara replied to the topic Newsletters and RSS feeds – advice needed in the forum Engineering 10 years, 4 months ago
Hey @libby-jonson I use Mailchimp to deliver my RSS, and as Amy does, I have it set as a segment to my main list. You CAN do it as two lists (and then MC counts it twice), but I set mine up as a segment.
The “segment” is “Do you want weekly blog posts and podcasts”. So if someone just signs up from the box at the top of my site, or at something…[Read more] -

tara replied to the topic One Etsy shop vs Two Etsy shops (what to do, pros and cons) in the forum Engineering 10 years, 4 months ago
Hey @ana-watts, I know what @tanja-osswald means, but instead of thinking about as “confusing” your customer, think about who the customer IS. Does a spinner or knitter buy finished goods? Probably not. But does she buy project bags. Yes, probably. So put everything in one shop that ONE customer would buy.
The slow sales of the second shop is…[Read more] -
tara replied to the topic Unique Coupon Codes for Email Opt In? in the forum Engineering 10 years, 4 months ago
I'm moving to ConvertKit this month, too!
I was going to say: You can put ONE code (not a unique one for each person) in the welcome email of any software (Aweber too), but no, I don't think you can tell ravelry to create a unique code and have it go in the email automatically.
So if you wanted a unique code, there's pretty much no way to do that…[Read more] -

Hi @mary-roth! I'm so sorry for the disappointing launch! I pretty much second everything else everyone has said: It's December, people may take longer to buy, etc.
The great thing is that there isn't a timeline on this, so you could do another mini-launch in a few weeks – reintroduce them, talk about them, say what's special in all the places…[Read more] -

thank you @laureen-marchand … this is thankfully not pneumonia (so far) just bronchitis, but it's been enough.

YESSS! I would definitely move to your name! I can never remember your biz name (like, when I want to tweet you) and I've looked it up a hundred times. I'm glad you're not going to change your old patterns, as I think all that really matters is your current site and handles. You can move that over with much less work than changing old patterns !
YAY!

@sasha-torres, so sorry this is a difficult time for you. That's really hard. For what it's worth, I'm glad you can call it a battle and not a rout. I believe in the strength we find in battling.
@penny-shima-glanz, hope you feel better soon. I had pneumonia a year and a half ago and was glad to have been told it would be awhile before recovery.…[Read more]

I loooove this! I also like “handmade in NY” (as a non-New Yorker “upstate” means nothing to me).

@bill-bradley – I think the fact that your Etsy shop got sales while your website didn't tells you a few things: Your etsy shop makes it easier for people to buy (and people who don't already know you, ie, come from an ad, are probably going to feel more comfotable buying on etsy than from a site they don't know).
So I would use that info to only…[Read more] -

All the things. Charting my stars is on my plan for my flight to San Diego tomorrow.what's going well?
I'm finally feeling healthier and more like me, though I still have coughing fits which aren't fun at all. I'm catching up on all the things as my ability to focus strengthens back to where it should be.how can we…[Read more]

I know you mentioned that you found someone, but I'll go ahead and add a recommendation for the graphic designer who designed my logo. I get tons of compliments on it. I used Jill Zielinski of Knitterella. She does logo design and other services for knitters and fiber artists.
