@karen-whooley I think leaving things on Patternfish while you decide what you want to do long-term is a great solution.

Yes @karen-whooley, we could do periodic meet ups!
I'll check those two venues.
Other areas of the country? You may not be as excited by my moving, but I'm willing to travel!
Ask:
I've not taught this way for years. Any thoughts on going rates? I think everything in SF dollars, which aren't realistic other places. 😉 -

My new website (as part of my re-brand) is UP! http://karenwhooley.com/ I still have WIP pages but everything other than the shopping cart that was on my old site is there. I am still debating on what to do about my shopping cart. I want to target new patterns re-branded to this new name. Im thinking that I may just leave the old patterns over…[Read more]

@jill-wolcott in the local PNW try Fiber Fusion Northwest, and Knit City in Vancouver BC too. Im excited that you will be moving in 2016 up this way. We should put together a WA based Group of Starshipers!

@jill-wolcott preemptive welcome to the Seattle area!
Madrona is a big one to target, for sure. There are a bunch of smaller fiber festivals in the PNW as well, but other major ones that I know do classes are Black Sheep Gathering (Eugene, OR) and Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival (Canby, OR– just outside Portland). Knit Fit is a newish smaller…[Read more]

Wrote out my Mile Markers for my “make a marketing plan and execute it consistently” map! I have seven that are in order, plus three that are based solely on number of subscribers to my email list, and I have no idea where those will actually happen, so they're being labeled a, b, and c and will be placed at what look like good spots and then…[Read more]

I'm not sure that LYS are a good fit for me. That said, I am talking to someone in NYC and a large regional shop.
We bought a townhouse in Seattle about three years ago with the intention of retiring up there. We started a major remodeling project of the townhouse in September, and it is nearing (two months away) completion. The real estate…[Read more]

My sensational 2016 includes finding venues to teach knitting-related things. Because I have my regular FIDM teaching gig, since I quit doing knitting retreats I haven't been doing any knitting teaching except at TNNA.
My Ask:
The big venues are obvious: Stitches/XRX, Vogue Knitting Live, Interweave, TKGA.I've got the call from Taos. Madrone is…[Read more]

Part of my goals for this year is getting a website online. I'm struggling with the content and Linda and Isabel (you are awesome!) gave me the hint that I can outsource that. What I need is not someone who just takes my notes and makes a text but someone who helps me with what content should be in those notes in the first place.
So, has anyone…[Read more]

@kristen-smith, I don't see how to post them here. Can you email me at jill @ jillwolcottknits.com and I'll send them to you that way. Anyone who can tell me how I post a document, that would be helpful.

@lesley-austin That's so cool and fun!
@mary-roth I finished up last night! I think. It's my first one and maybe I didn't go big enough with my goals. My main goal is to just get back in the swing of things and weave and paint every day and BE PRODUCTIVE. The holidays really cleaned out my inventory, and I have sucked at producing much since I…[Read more]
