How should they be paid? Is there a going price?
The going rate Mindy mentions is in the ballpark of what I've paid in the past. I add extra for complexity or heavy skills. How do you get your product back in a timely way?
Lawyer me up. I use a contract.Do you use some sort of agreement? Check-ins for progress?
See above. Formal drawn up…[Read more] -

Mary Roth,
I've got someone tentatively set for July, but let me check because I don't think they really cared. I'm delighted you want to participate! I'm going to have to email questions until I figure out how to upload, so please email me at jill @ jillwolcottknits.comHere's an updated list–only end of the year slots available, but I'm happy…[Read more]

One of the first To-dos to take care of with this quarter's journey is putting everything in place for my Daybook customers to share and spread the word about it. It has its own instagram profile and tag, which I want to be the main social media focus, tho' Pinterest will be another once I get going with it. I am also considering a Mailchimp…[Read more]

Hello Elaine,
I don't have a lot of experience with Etsy, having only opened my shop a bit more than a year ago. But I just did a quick check of my orders/feedback and noticed that it is about the same ratio as yours…approx. one-third to one-fourth of my sales have received reviews. They just seem to appear and I am always pleased as I am…[Read more]

Wow – your handwoven goods are simply beautiful! I personally love the teal huck lace scarf!
Overall, I thought your photos were great. I like the mix of mannequin and different tables, all of the thumbnail images look very good together.
One of the blogs I read did a piece on product photography (for food) where she made different tile…[Read more]

I am having a hard time getting customers to submit Etsy reviews after purchasing from me. I leave a personal note in each shipment, thanking them for the purchase and asking them to share pictures of their completed projects (on our farm's facebook page) as well as kindly requesting an Etsy review. So far, I have only had a couple buyers leave…[Read more]

I have a question on this.
I made two groups in my MC list – one for RSS blog posts and the other for Newsletter. Should I go ahead and import all my existing subscribers into the Newsletter group as this is what they signed up for and then they can manage their preferences to add themselves to the blog posts too. I am hesitant to move people…[Read more]

I think that works – my main concern would be if Knot Just Crochet is already active on Facebook how much chance is there that your customers will find them by accident and just stay there instead of adding the extra ‘ed' and finding you.
This may not be an issue depending on how different the businesses are.
What about KnotJust as a username?…[Read more]

I think the photos are a great start and I prefer the wood background, especially the ones where there are things added like the houndstooth table runner and the white tea towel in the bowl. The warmth and texture of the wood adds to the overall look and feel of the product.
What about a painted white wood? It might bring both your wooden table…[Read more]

Hiya! I'm a weaver and I sell in my online shop. I've been trying to use a wood table as a background for most of my product photos because I feel like it looks warmer and more inviting than just a white background. But honestly, it's a pain to get the white balance right and to get things to fit well on the table, which is kind of small. I do…[Read more]

I'd love to get in on this if those last few slots are still open! 🙂 July would be great, as it coincides with a self-challenge that went really well last year and that I want to bring back, but I'm game for anything if that doesn't work.
