Working on: All the little details of the yarn club shipments. I've ordered the two items that will be going out as extras in the first two shipments (the one going out in the third shipment arrived yesterday). I'm already dyeing the yarn (am caught up with the first shipment for people who've joined already). And the rest of today and tomorrow,…[Read more]

Hey @tanja-osswald – I sent three emails in December that warned of a December 31st deadline! Sorry you weren't able to save anything before that!

@elaine-vandiver, that how do I connect without making my customers hate me is such a problem. I am probably not a typical consumer, being crabby and middle-aged about shopping generally, but I think that it takes so much time, and that is so hard as a seller. It does argue for showing up on social media and creating a presence without being…[Read more]

@joeli-kelly I can see how asking for a specific review (5 star, all positive) is presumptive and distasteful, but I never considered simply asking someone to provide a purchase review would be a turn off. I hadn't considered the obvious possibility that some shoppers just come looking to make a purchase and nothing more. I guess I just hear so…[Read more]

what are you working on?
All the things. Still need to carve out time to finish my stars & q1 map. I'm hoping to take a snuggle day on Sunday and do it. I'm curious how the cats will help.what's going well?
I'm settling into a new routine though that may change again soon depending if a group makes Eli an offer he won't refuse and he begins to…[Read more] -

Whew! Finished my Q1 Map yesterday, but still need to prettify.
Goal: Can I have 30 or more artwork pieces listed for sale on my website on or before March 31, 2016, retail value $5,000 or more.
Sorry I have to miss chat today–next week!

Hi Grace! Welcome back and CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🙂
Ok, so here's my two cents, based on the fact that I used to make a living as a fiber artist and now I do it by helping other crafty business owners!
First off, a clarifying question – are you planning to do more like what Tara does, where she creates digital products that are useful to crafty biz…[Read more]

I have finished my Q1 map and the plan is to rebrand the business and launch it with a new content focus. Exciting but slightly overwhelming too.

Whatcha workin on?
Finished CYS and MQ1 – the rebrand plan is unfolding. I am excited and a little terrified. Hoping to see some graphics by the end of this week which will be exciting.
Testing, testing and more testing. I am catching up on all the testing of current projects.
Trying to control the urge to start new things before I have put the…[Read more] -

Totally with Joeli on this! I actually quite resent that I am expected to do my job(s), plus review every single thing that I buy, do, look at, on the internet. I do reviews based on relationships I am developing or have with producers. I think I've left a review for Amy, because I love Amy and her art. So if you are a restaurant I go to, a book I…[Read more]

This is probably just my personality, but someone asking me to leave a review just makes me 100% more likely to not leave one. (And if someone asks me to leave a positive review or a 5 star review, which I have had happen, that absolutely guarantees they aren't getting a review.)

It's not just you! I'm at about 1/4-ish reviews to sales as well, and I've never really done anything to encourage reviews. Etsy does send them a link at some point after their purchase is expected to arrive, asking them to leave a review, but some people are just not reviewers or not interested enough to go back and deal with it. Personally, I…[Read more]

It's not just you. I also have a small ratio of reviews to orders. I don't want to pester buyers about leaving reviews, but I'd really love to get more of them to leave them. (I do write a note on each packing slip and one of the sentences asks for a review.) So I guess I'm writing to say you're not alone, and I'd love to hear what other people…[Read more]
