Yes, yes, yes! Go for it!
Cute cartoony sheep are even better than realistic ones! You'd just have to work out characteristic features of the different races.I think Wikipedia is a good basic source for sheep info and some pictures: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheep
Sheep races:
Merino (the standard, kind of):…[Read more]

Tanja Osswald replied to the topic Bridging the Gap in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
It is sad that you know that gap too – I have a friend who had a little business for years, afraid to make enough money to make it worth the work because then she'd have to pay her own health insurance (earning almost nothing, she was covered by her husband's insurance). The gap started ridiculously low: If you earn over 400 Euro per month, you…[Read more]

Note: If you aren't currently supporting yourself with your business, or working toward that goal of “my business pays my rent and all my life expenses,” this thread is not for you. Thank you for understanding!
@shannon-chomanczuk touched on this briefly in Starship chat the other day, and it brought to the forefront something that's been lurking…[Read more]

Tanja Osswald replied to the topic Pricing an Ebook in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
Thank you, @karen-robinson, for your thoughtful reply! You are right, the pricing depends on my goals with the Ebook. I think I will treat this as an experiment and test whether an Ebook drives more sales.
Thanks, too, @linda-tieu! 12 really sounds good.

My newest afghan design is now available on the Red Heart site:http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/dynamic-squares-throw
This is a slightly modified version of the afghan I entered in last summer's CGOA design competition.
Feel free to share the link with your friends if you like my design. 🙂 -

I had a matching hat and cowl set that I set up as an ebook (I've since removed the ebook option). Each pattern was $5, so together would have been $10. I priced the ebook at $8. I thought that seemed like a decent incentive to go ahead and buy both patterns but also wasn't such a deep discount that I felt I was giving them away.
So maybe with…[Read more]

Thank you, @linda-tieu. With Ravelry, there is no trouble in naming the thing, as they have their bundle/ebook feature already named.
All patterns together are 14.50 Euro, the single patterns range between 3 and 4 Euro.
My question is: How much discount should I give on the Ebook? -

Thanks @jill-wolcott and @kristan-macintyre! I have gotten some really heartwarming comments back from people, including that it was “One of the best newsletters I’ve gotten from any indie company in a very long time,” which might have to be printed and framed and go on my wall for the tough days.
I also just hit 20 people on my list– another o…[Read more]
