This is amazing, I'm an hour outside London and would love to take a class with you. Craft your customer path, discovering your right person, all very appealing 🙂 would be great to meet up. I've just watched today's Periscope, you made me smile with your ‘being real'.

CONGRATS, Tara! How exciting for you both! I haven't been off the continent either so I know how big this is!
Can't help with where to teach though.

I’m designing a Vision Board workshop!
A vision board (also called dream board or collage) is a visual representation of what you want to create, how you want to feel, what you want to attract, etc that reminds you of your path and works on a subliminal level as well. It's often created with pictures and words from magazines.
This initial w…[Read more]

Today's the last day for people to sign up for my yarn club. I jumped into doing this yarn club as a result of the Biz Confidence Challenge. That really gave me the push to do this (thank you, Tara!), and I'm happy with the results so far.
I came up with a number of spaces for the yarn club as the cap that I determined to be the number of skeins…[Read more]

Karen Robinson replied to the topic Designers, I'm confused! Test knitters vs. sample knitters? in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
I knit my own samples. Mostly that's because I like to make sure what I have down on paper really works and I feel like I need to go through that process myself, especially as I frequently make adjustments as I'm working through a project.
I do use test knitters. I used to do the test knit first and then have my pattern tech edited, but now I do…[Read more]

Depending on how well I knew the person, I'd do one of two things:
1. An email: Hey there friend! I saw you're doing blah blah, which, from the outside seems an awful lot like *thing I sell*. Can you help me see how it's different?
2. Cease and desist letter. That's if it's something like a product I sell. If it's flat-out copying my free…[Read more]

Thanks, Tara!
I've decided, for now, to keep the Etsy URL using karendawn instead of changing it. I will revisit this decision in a few months and see what I think then. I'm directing people to http://www.roundtableyarns.com these days rather than my Etsy shop anyway because I've integrated my Etsy shop directly into my website.
And for the yarn bases,…[Read more]

Thank you so much for making this clear ask!
I had looked up the email messages and almost included them in my last reply, but didn't want to argue it farther unnecessarily. I think that's what you mean by not willing to take responsibility for it. That is certainly not the case, as I fully take responsibility for my part of it…[Read more] -

CC has invited me to teach at her retreat, in the UK, OMG!
And Joeli has offered to help me find some more gigs, YAY!I kinda can't believe it's happening (the extent of my international travel has been Montreal (honeymoon!) and over the border from my dad's house, into Tijuana). No one in my family has ever been overseas, except with…[Read more]

@linda-tieu HAHA! I know what you mean, but the idea that I would have no problems is hilarious, as I just dealt with no working dryer for over a week, got bad info from an “electrician” that was a friend of my landlord, bought a new dryer (the dryer repairman (who we had to pay for!) said, “I can't find anything wrong, so it must be the motor,…[Read more]

Jill Wolcott replied to the topic Adding Metric Measurements in the forum Ten Forward 9 years, 6 months ago
Thanks for that @joeli-kelly. I think what I'll do is do some measuring myself using cm instead of inches and find what works for me. I've got a spreadsheet to convert, so making it useful is the key! Thanks.
