Karen Lepage started the topic Help Reading This Contract? in the forum Engineering 9 years, 6 months ago
I miss you all in chat today! I have been wanting to look into my contracts to determine when and whether I own my patterns again. Stitch Magazine went out of business, but their parent company F&W Media is the entity through which my work was contracted. I am posting the Rights language from one of my many contracts here, and all of them share…[Read more]

YAAAY Kelly and I are SO FREAKING EXCITED to meet you in person Tara! I'm up for anything. I used to work in Dayton at Reynolds and Reynolds as a Marketing Director for their international subsidiaries (in Germany).
@riin-gill Kelly and I are driving down at noon on Friday and returning Sunday night, if that works for you, you are totally…[Read more]

I took my friend Carrie's Vision Board workshop online and it totally blew my mind. I would love to take one in person.
I second Tanja'a questions, because I really think they will help you write a beautiful and captivating class description.

So glad you started this thread! So many I've never listened to!
I subscribe to a bunch but most weeks I actually listen to:
–Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield (hate the name, love the content)
–School of Greatness with Lewis Howes
–The Tim Ferriss Show (I skip all his conversations with athlete-like people, but learn a lot from…[Read more] -

We wrote at the same time. Of course there are crochet cables, lots of them. But I just know of two techiques to work them horizontally and one is the one I made up (the other is from someone else in the slip stitch group, a pretty cool way, too, but I can see in the hat pattern I linked that she used my technique).

D'oh! Just realized that the pattern you link to is CROCHET, but you mention that you published a pattern with KNITTING horizontal cables so..I also googled crochet cables and found lots of results!

So glad you asked a lawyer, @tanja-osswald! I agree that if someone learns a technique from you, and you explain how to do it, they should link to your tutorial. (That's how I see it done all the time with something that's become standard, like “judy's magic cast-on”)
I just googled “knitting Horizontal cable”
This was the first result, in 2009:…[Read more] -

Let's see if I got that right: The workshop is just for people who live close-by since you all have to meet somewhere? I had thought that “in person” just meant that you are skyping or something.
With examples, I did not mean the scientifically traceable number-kind of result. Just tell a story, like the short one about the vision board you…[Read more]

of COURSE I can do multiple maps if that’s what makes sense for my goals and situation.
Exactly! And I love your map, @mary-roth! And I love that you didn't re-do it just to procrastinate! 🙂
@clare-devine – that's a great goal!
@jane-dolan Yay for a really specific goal!
@patty-schuster It makes a lot of sense that you'd measure this goal b…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald and @angelique-stewart, thank you for your great questions and comments!

A vision board is a collection of images and words (in this case from magazines) that are displayed on some kind of a background board. It's a way to clarify your intention for…[Read more]
