I do my financials once a week (Usually on a Friday) This way nothing gets lost in the shuffle. the fact that everything connects with the bank is helpful, but if I wait to do it monthly I forge what belongs to what and how to break it out in categories for taxes.
I know what you mean about all the emails. I keep only the actual receipt. There…[Read more]

I use YNAB (youneedabudget.com) and absolutely love it. It works really well for my purposes. It basically forces me to log every payment in and every payment out. I don't keep receipts formally (I know I should!) because they are all digital. But starting a receipts folder in Evernote sounds like a great idea (you can forward emails to evernote…[Read more]

There is an old saying that we lose 90% of our body heat through our heads. I suggest 90% (Ninety Percent) for the name of your new hat pattern!

Thanks @karen-whooley, I haven't looked at quick books but was considering fresh books. Every time you buy something do you log it as an expense in quick books?
I thought I'd just drag all my emails relating to expenses into an email folder and go through it once a month putting the numbers into a spreadsheet but that seems tedious when I get…[Read more]

@alex-collins I use Quickbooks to track all my invoices and orders. It allows me to easily pull reports and send statements when money is due, and I can keep really good track of my income and expenses. Everything I need is in that program. They have both desktop/laptop versions as well as on-line, though I am using the desktop version at the…[Read more]

I was wondering how everyone keeps track of invoices, receipts, orders ect.
I'm thinking of using Evernote but wondered what everyone else does to keep on top of things.

Hi @jacquie-wareham! Thanks for reposting. I have been working with Zina since July, so about 7 months. I was grateful I had her help when the yarn company job I left my full-time job for fell apart in Sept. She helped me find my voice to stand up for myself, and to realize that that job was really just a way to move me forward doing what I…[Read more]

Hi @lisa-barnes
Thanks for posting about your inspirational story!
I definitely want to re-post it to my face-book page.
I see that working with a life coach is part of your story- may I ask how long you have been coaching with Zina? And may I mention that in my post? It might be helpful information for people who are thinking of working with…[Read more]

Hi Elaine,
I'm so sorry you are facing this difficult business situation. It sounds like it's really taking a toll.
One small thing I would add to all the other helpful advice is to see if you can find a way to calm yourself. When we're upset it's really hard to think clearly and strategically.
If you know any meditation or visualizations, or…[Read more]

I miss you all in chat today! I have been wanting to look into my contracts to determine when and whether I own my patterns again. I am posting the Rights language from one of my many contracts here, and all of them share…[Read more]
