Jill, I would love to do March or April of 2017. I'd take December (it still looks like it's open) but if this year was a clue December and January will be crazy for me. I'm not a knitwear designer but I do make bags for knitters.

Facebook has decided that my recent Page post is “engaging” and seems to have put that information in place of the text box where I can post anything new. Does anyone know how to fix this? My timeline is there, with all the old posts, but there isn't a way to add to it.
I suspect that what FB wants is for me to boost the post, but I don't want…[Read more]

I've been looking at Shopify too. I like that they have a POS/ App for selling in person at shows.
@alex-collins Did you purchase one of their fancier templates? I really like the look of your site!

This is my first draft of my contract for sending sample garments. I cobbled it together from other contracts I found. I need to revise it for sending yarn/fiber. Let me know what you think. Feedback, please!
Hmm…I can't upload a pdf. Let me try something sneaky… There, I saved each page as a png!

What I'm working on: Dyeing yarn for a shop update later this month, Q1 map to-dos (creating monthly/weekly to-do list templates of recurring tasks, social media and production scheduling, 2016 biz calendar outline), and teaching my part-time helper (my boyfriend) to make mini-skeins.
What's going well: This week I went to a coffee shop, sat down…[Read more]

Hi Amy! When I was getting started on Periscope, I found that there was a lot of work to be done getting the people who already followed me elsewhere to join me on Periscope. I posted about my Periscope presence all over other social media sites that I was active on as well as in my newsletter. I also regularly scoped about “how to use Periscope…[Read more]

Is there a way you can capture your periscopes so you can repurpose them as blog or newsletter content so you don't feel your time has been wasted even if you don't have that many people in your scope? I think there is an app called Katch which helps you do that.
I feel like social media platforms compliment everything else you do that makes…[Read more]

I've just used Shopify to build my website and found it very simple to set up. They have templates to get you started then its just a case of adding your own text and images if you don't want to do anything complicated.
Ive used Squarespace in the past too and that was very beginner friendly. Im hearing so many people talking about them lately so…[Read more]

Yeah, I noticed that when I skimmed through the post after sending it to you. I'd welcome you in whatever format you want to do it. 🙂 The potential for improvement for so many of my health issues is the primary reason I'm doing it.

@belinda-briggs I'm feeling glad we have a dog dog!

Thanks. And great question, too, about the contract. I would love to know what a sample contract looks like as well. It would be a great starting point for drafting one up.
I thought of another question (surprise, surprise…).
Q. What is a good timeline for planning them? Six months ahead? Less?
I'm already scheming to contact some…[Read more]

I agree @tanja-osswald, that cover needs to be replaced!
As for the train crash, it's been on the regional and national news here in Canada. I thought of you too when I first heard. It's such a tragedy!

I haven't been doing anything useful at the end specifically, because I'm almost always down to 1 viewer (or none!) by that point. I will, however, make a more concerted effort to go in with a specific agenda and link people! I think maybe I need to make more little name/url cards and swap them out depending on what the agenda is for that…[Read more]
