Exactly two weeks after publishing my shawl pattern, it broke even! There was not big rush on the pattern but sales continued kind of stably. Hope they'll go on like this.
By the way, by breaking even I don't mean that it earned the cost of production. That was low. My break even is the average amount of money you can get from a magazine for a…[Read more]

What's going well?
Blogging 5 days a week, I decided to take both Saturday & Sunday off. Those days can be left for reviews etc. I missed a few days but I'll get back on track. What I'm working on?
Nothing's changed this week. We're dog sitting 2 beagles so my work distractions have increased! Afghan samples. I'm almost done the motifs for the…[Read more] -

Thank you, Karen!!
I think it's a great idea to do an introductory price of $99 and then up it to $149 after I've had a chance to run a group through the course and get some feedback!

Hey Riin!
Based on what you're listing as your preferred criteria, I honestly can't recommend much about Tennessee. I've lived in the Nashville area on and off for about 14 years and I'm not a big fan, ha! Definitely plenty of guns, and even more people who think we should have them all the time and in every place.
Definitely a lack of diversity…[Read more]

Jess, No matter the price you offer it at, I will take it! 🙂
My first thought is to say go with the higher price. I have seen a few that have been as much as $299. Never sell yourself short! But if you really really feel scared at the highest price, Start in the middle at $99 for a few months and see how it goes.
Have you thought about…[Read more]

Hello, captains!
I'm working on a side project – an e-course on How to Hire your First VA (Virtual Assistant).
I decided to go with an online course instead of an e-book because, quite frankly, I figure I can charge more for a course than just a PDF download. BUT now, the question is, how much?
The course includes…
– a full-course PDF that is…[Read more] -

Thank you @amy-crook and @linda-tieu …I will refund her money. At this moment, I am just debating whether to communicate with her at all during the process. I understand it is her own stuff causing her to approach this in such a way and I want her to understand the reality, but I realize that is my stuff.: )
I will probably just wait a few days…[Read more]

Held off commenting on this until the delivery service just handed me the parcel with the first copy of my book in it! I knew it was coming today. It sooooooo much more than meets my expectations. I used IngramSpark. I did all the layout myself (but if I hadn't had previous experience doing other projects that required me to lay out flyers,…[Read more]

Just wanted to check in and tell everyone who saw me being all unfocused and flailing in chat that I had a lovely afternoon at the coffee shop, REALLY enjoyed getting out of the house, and took some solid steps towards getting last year's biz taxes filed (made WA DOR account, watched their getting started videos, figured out a couple of things…[Read more]

I've changed a few things on my site after the suggestions I received in chat today. I have gone with a white background and put the Etsy mini at the top of the page. Also adjusted the size and position of a few things. Next will be to fix the photos- some are sideways and many need to be cropped.

I believe she can only go back so far and ask for refunds through Paypal — the Paypal cutoff is at 4-6 months I believe, you can look it up. The fact that she's doing it that way instead of contacting you directly tells me that she is embarrassed and angry and going through something that has nothing to do with you. Refund her the $36 and be glad…[Read more]

Lars did both soft and hard covers (in addition to PDF) and he can tell you details about that side of things. One of my non-starship clients used magcloud and my understanding is they're happy. If you're interested I can put you in touch with them.

I received an email yesterday from Paypal that a member of Wisteria & Sunshine (my private, recurring monthly subscription membership site) had opened a dispute against me. Here is the message I received and my response:
Please forgive me but I do not wish to be charged further for this service. It should have been cancelled years ago. I have not…[Read more]
