Thanks @kimberley-bridgwater. That sort of rhythm is what I do at my membership site where I post five times a week. Have to work out a much more minimal one for my public blog to get more members for my other site.
The reposting of other's posts is an interesting idea. Do your readers seem to appreciate it?
It's a lot to juggle, this social…[Read more]

I enjoyed looking at your blog @jill-wolcott and learning your approach…I like the idea of “qualities” of posts. I am going to think about that and if it might help me. And I am impressed that a rebel could have a series, tho' I know you always have room to shift and tweak. : )
Oh, by the way, I noticed that you several times mentioned…[Read more]

I can't remember which episode that was either and I'm not on the laptop where they're all saved. But here is my basic plan for my blog which then gets pushed to Twitter and Facebook:
Weekly Planning Monday or Me Monday if I have something timely
Quotation Tuesday
WIP (Work In Progress) Wednesday
This Is My Life… Thursday
FO (Finished Ob…[Read more] -

@lesley-austin I am not good at planning my blog posts and when I do, I usually end up writing something else. Plus I am a rebel, so sometimes it is better to go with it. This is what I have successfully done for eight months:
On my planning calendar I put down that I blog every Tuesday and Friday. Once a month I put up a guest blog, so when the…[Read more]

I'm away from home this weekend on a solo biz retreat to try to get lots of my Map Making tasks done. A big one for me is to craft a new approach to my blog posting. I've been silent there for awhile, as I've always tended to post when “inspired” and I haven't been inspired for awhile.
I'm working through Tara's Busting the Blog Myth and am…[Read more]

Re business benefits
I think taking time to renew and recharge, do things that you enjoy or get excited about can have a very direct effect on business.
This was important to me because I've figured out the hard way that especially this time of year (crazy busy) I get burned out easily because life comes to a screeching halt for my spring show…[Read more]

Lesley Austin replied to the topic Need some advice about a Paypal Dispute in the forum Engineering 9 years, 4 months ago
Thanks so much for all of the advice! I waited for a week or so and just tonight I felt I could refund with grace (and a short polite note that I hope puts her off from asking for yet more refunds and wishes her well). If she opens any more disputes, I will not refund them, unless she ever responds to me or communicates with me directly.
As an…[Read more]

Such good feedback here! They already covered almost every single thing that came to my mind!
Just a few tiny notes –
–The Facebook “like” button shows a super-low count (it was 0 before I clicked on it). There's a way to make that button NOT show the number of likes. Then you can switch it back when you have over 500 or something big.…[Read more] -

I pretty much am in agreement with everyone here. I cannot get into the Ravelry forum, groups, whatever. I just troll around and look for patterns to purchase.
I do think that if you do a KAL or SAL it will build your community and that in turn will turn into business contacts and cash flow. You are so good with video, periscope, etc that I…[Read more] -

I have the same problem on Ravelry. My group is small now, but for a while I was over 500 and then because no one would do anything, I closed the group. I reopened it because people wanted me to have one.
Then week before last I did a survey on my newsletter about social media and forums. Over 50% of people said they wanted to see more on…[Read more]

I've just finished Lesson #1 as part of Lift Off. As most of my products are services (teaching knitting), I've had to think differently about price of “product” and “cost of goods sold.”
I teach some classes where I'm paid a flat $/hour, and other classes are paid a $ per student. Some classes are hourly (private lessons) and some are set…[Read more]

Yay @rinn-gill for regular shipments–because I assume that means money in as well! And because I hate shipping!

Thanks everyone on this one. I feel like Joeli, and Ruth. I cannot get people to interact on Ravelry. I have nearly 900 people in my group. No one talks. I post and the same three people comment. I put my blog post link up and apparently 207 people utilize that, but no one says peep.
I do stuff I think will be fun, and get such a low response it…[Read more]

Oh lord I'm so glad I'm not the only one hating Ravelry forums. I am having sort of the same identity crisis. On the one hand I know my market…. but the issue is, they don't hang out on Ravelry/other forums.
As you know I'm re-building some blocks of my business to direct myself towards my North Star. I've been promoting more on Instagram to…[Read more]
