Whatcha workin on? Just in-hand orders and a few “on request” embroidery designs and lessons.
What’s going well?
Well, I guess the flexibly part of my business is what is going well. Our house went under contract 2 days after it went on the market but my business life feels completely on hold because of this whole selling the house process.I a…[Read more]

@penny-shima-glanz, Ayrton is gorgeous! I want to grab the pattern and start it immediately for spring! My systems need fixing for my design releases too. I think I'm on more social media than the last release where I was not active on any!

This thread is a support group for all of us self publishing books. (I'll post more later)

I would stay away from “box” perhaps, because to me it implies that it's a single “thing” at that price point, and as a retailer trying to sell one big thing is always harder than several little things. I know the intention is that they break it up and sell the skeins separately, but “box” makes me think of those “mystery box” subscriptions that…[Read more]

I'm trying to think of it from a store point of view. What makes it easier for them? What words convey that? Like, Quarterly Corrie Sock Supply Set? Quarterly Superfun Supply?

Thanks for doing that post @penny-shima-glanz. Didn't know about your father, so I now see what that stirred up for you. I've just got one thing to add, well, maybe two:
1. Say anything. Even if you just enjoyed Vanessa on chat, say something. Whenever there is a trauma, people say nothing because they don't know what to say. Saying nothing is…[Read more] -

Whatcha working on?
I’m really excited about some things that I’m exploring. Less excited about other work. What’s going well / on?
I have done most of the things on my list pretty consistently for weeks. I continue to not do all the stuff I need to do on house prep, but maybe I can turn that around.
I started making little post-its for all m…[Read more]

Hi @linda-tieu– I'm not sure which format is better. Probably something that they print out and write in the info. But if you do it as a pdf template, they could do either, right? For size, I'd suggest something that could be easily cut from 8.5 x 11″, so maybe two across and three down (so 4.25″ x 3.6″)?

@karen-whooley let's start a support group for self-publishers. I'm doing a book that is more a reference book than a pattern book, but we could provide support!
