I did try Facebook ads but gave up on them as I didn't see enough of a result to justify the cost. I might try again closer to winter (June here) when there will be more interest in knitting etc.
I'm also new to starship
so nice to meet you

((Hugs))
It does sound very strange indeed.
No advice, sorry. I wouldn't know how to deal with that either. I'd be crying and blaming myself and sure it was something I'd done wrong. Times like that I wish I could be less sensitive to others opinions of me and not care what ‘they' think -

There's nothing substantial I can add to what the others have written, so just this: *hugs*

If some people are giving up Instagram for the day tomorrow do you there is a chance they may be more engaged than usual on Facebook instead? (or Pinterest!) If that is the case, it may be a good day to test out advertising on those platforms.
I've read a lot over the past year about Facebook ads (how to and what makes a good ad) and tinkered…[Read more]

What? I totally read through your Tweets, and you were not being mean. You are entitled to your opinion – which was expressed as an opinion, and just because you feel differently than someone else it's not a condemnation of another person.
I've run into attitudes like what you're describing – namely “If you dare to express an opinion different…[Read more]

Joeli,
My first reaction to this was…”wait, what? I watch your scopes and catch a few tweets and this interaction makes no sense. You are nothing but sensitive to others watching.”Ok, maybe that was my second reaction. The first was major amounts of hugs!!! What an awful way to start the day.
My question is why did she get on touch with you…[Read more]

So the periscope that she didn't like was the one about “fake” instagrams accounts — during which I said I don't think there is really such a thing, and you should post whatever it is that you love. But she said I was calling people out for being fake and being mean. I genuinely don't know how she got that from my scope, but she did and I can't…[Read more]

What I'm working on: Getting ready to release the first of 3 new colourways I have coming out this month. I'm trying something new and staggering the release (one per week) instead of all at once which is what I usually do.
What's going well: I'm super excited about my new colourways
What I need help with: I don't even know!

Oh no! I didn't realize Mei had decided to close Craftivity! I started using it in the beginning but didn't like that it was only available online.
I don't know of any single app that does all that Craftivity does. I'm using Evernote now but which is online/desk top/mobile friendly but while it does have reminders it does not have a calendar per…[Read more]

Oh, man…I'm kinda mad you told me about Craftivity because it sounds great and I want it! I've been attempting to create a similar goal/workflow tracking in Asana. I haven't really perfected it, but it sorta works. I'm curious to see if there is something great out there.

First off, *hugs*! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this.
Like Katie, I can't help but wonder if she told you what specific posts she had a problem with. If not, then that is definitely a lot more like bullying than a productive conversation between adults. I scrolled back through some of your Twitter (you tweet a LOT haha), but I didn't…[Read more]

(((hugs)) That sounds like a lot of confrontation and very upsetting. I totally understand why you're feeling so upset!
Some clarifying questions that I have about your situation:
Was she specific about the posts and the content that she didn't like?
Was any of that information communicated to you during your business negotiations?
Is this…[Read more] -

I had a very unpleasant phone conversation this morning and it's left me really upset and confused about what to do.
Firstly, this has to all stay in Starship or I could get in bigger trouble. I would normally just keep it all to myself because that's the person I am but I could really use advice.
So basically…I've been invited to speak at a…[Read more]

I have been using Craftivity to organize Yarn Love for the past 18 months. It's got:
* a calendar similar to Google calendar which I use for my dye schedule
* Goal setting – including a break down for milestones & a description of the work to be done.
* A weekly checklist for holding to-dos which can be moved to the next weekUnfortunately, the…[Read more]
