It's a very interesting thread !
So much frustrations about traditional publishers. It's a pity they are so afraid to publish a book that could be a flop. Because you never know. When it comes to sales, there is four categories of books:
very few books skyrocket. It's Harry Potter, the 4 hours week (that was rejected by a lot of publishers),…[Read more] -

What are you working on ?
Curing a cold.
What's going well ? Not working on my daily workflow frees a lot of energy. I'm reading, hearing podcasts and taking notes, because I feel like I have 20 new ideas every minutes ! I also doing a lot of work that I won't do on a regular basis like searching for blogpost that are working well and tweaking…[Read more] -

@jill-wolcott, systmes that are too strict tend not to work since they are just about fulfilling a system and not about getting the job done.
How do you keep track of what stage your project is in? And what stages do you have?@dana1680079, that sounds interesting. For some reason, you upload did not work. But you can contact Jess (our Starship…[Read more]

So I foolishly (even though I knew I was doing it when I did it) only have apples and oranges to compare to each other. Since this is a safe place I'm going to get really honest with my numbers 🙂
I targeted a carousel ad (the ones with the multiple square photos) that the call to action was probably too direct but it was concise, I re-targeted…[Read more]

Thank you, @tanja-osswald, for starting this thread!
I not only don't have a tracking system for what design is at what stage, I don't have a complete list of the stages. My list skips samples entirely despite the fact that I usually design on the hook or needles while making notes. I also don't have photography or formatting on my list. I'll be…[Read more]

Terri replied to the topic How much do you pay for business insurance? in the forum Engineering 9 years, 2 months ago
Riin that's just about what I pay too. I don't remember the exact cost off the top of my head for the basic business liability but it's in the $1k/year range. I have an additional umbrella insurance as required by a contract for the year too so forgive me if I've mixed up the name for either but the umbrella adds a bit on top. I'm in the US as…[Read more]

I have a photography work flow chart that I modified for knit design – I can share it, can I upload files to the Starship? I am still new and figuring things out. I will try to attach a photo of it.

This is a little early, but if you know you are going, you can put your name in here and I'll let you know as we get closer.
I organize a dinner for Captains. Apparently Tara won't be there, but it is always fun to get together. I love to eat and entertain, so I'm happy to do this.
I get in late Thursday night and will leave Monday afternoon. I…[Read more]

Tanja,
I have kind of a loose system. Big surprise! I do have a master checklist, but it overwhelms me so I tend to focus on things stage at a time. My projects often take months and I like to work on things in a focused way, but do tend to have a variety of things at different stages. -
Jennie Moraitis started the topic Tracking Sales from Social Media et al in the forum Engineering 9 years, 2 months ago
I'm curious how you track sales from various social media sites. Are bitly links pretty much the only way to go? And do you then have a spreadsheet to track where each bitly link was from and a system to check those links once a month to see what's working? (This system would mean many links out there for one thing – blog, Pinterest, IG, etc.) I…[Read more]

Hey, thanks you two. Ok, I'll get to work. Stay tuned for revisions (but don't push me… 🙂 I totally put that in because of our discussion today – rebels + schedule-challenged-people).
