@tanja-osswald, it is pretty cool. I'm hoping I can do something with it–instead of being too embarrassed as I usually am.

My goal is three-fold: Get the single patterns of book no. 1 done and published on Ravelry, get projects for books no. 2 and 3 done and published as single patterns.
Hopefully, Q3 will see both books published. -

How awesome that she followed you all that time! And your Right People sound like a goldmine. 🙂

@tanja-osswald, I got an email a couple of months ago from a woman married to a former partner of Mitch's. We used to get together with them and I would talk to her at law firm functions (as she said, we were the two no one else wanted to talk to). Mitch had a rather unhappy parting with that firm, so we lost touch. She found out a couple of her…[Read more]

@kathi-snodgrass sometimes a couple of them are actually similar, but if you need 12, then 12 is okay!

@mary-roth I think that 10K steps is silly. It just isn't possible for most people. But I do think physical activity will help some with sleep, so your walks should help.
Early on in our relationship my sleeplessness drove Mitch crazy and he helped me get disciplined about it. One of the things he noted was that it was largely my brain that…[Read more]

Examples! Because I like visuals….just for fun, go look at my Facebook page feed. Can you identify which of these images was posted from another platform?

And if you can, does it bother you? Are they offensive?

Well, she's quite entitled to that opinion. When it comes to social media the hard thing is that you really need to identify your own goals, find your own community and then go cultivate that relationship. Just because you're in the same industry doesn't mean you need to treat your community the same way she does.
That being said, I think we as…[Read more]

I know a couple of editors at Interweave I'd be happy to put you in touch with. I also know the executive editor at Creative Knitting. Email me a press release at jill at jillwolcottknits.com and I'll see if it triggers anything else for you.
My apologies I didn't reply yesterday.

@tanja-osswald I also have worked with yarn companies that wanted everything back. My response was exactly like yours! I have worked with other companies that couldn't give me enough yarn, and that is so much nicer. 😉

Oh, I'm so interested in knowing what others think. I do cross-platform because I am one person and otherwise how do you get stuff out there? I try to be strategic and thoughtful, but at some point I figure it is social media and there is some expectation of this stuff.

Katie Franceschi replied to the topic Wave Accounting in the forum Engineering 9 years, 1 month ago
I use Wave – it has pretty much everything I need for bookkeeping and taxes. I like the reports and use it to report my profit to make sure I'm on track. I switched from GoDaddy's accounting software because it wasn't playing nicely with my bank. So far, Wave has been great.
It's truly free, which I like. If you're doing a huge backlog it can get…[Read more]

Thanks @lea-ann-mcgregor. I think the other thing here is that I need to get a much clearer picture from them of their program! I decided not to submit because it did end up feeling like a distraction and if my goals for this year are working on my book and teaching more, that is where I should put my energy.

I've got two today!
I did a private knitting workshop yesterday. I did tons of prep, which I didn't need because the knitters had over-sold their skills so we spent much longer doing one thing than planned, but I was ready, and it went well anyway. They want me to come back next month and teach them how to fix their mistakes. My class proposals…[Read more]

This is my first time and I am getting into it. I have done similar things with Project management at work, but this is way more fun and in some ways harder. Here are a couple of questions:
1. I have 12 mile markers. Should I cut it down to 10.
2. I want to complete most of the mile markers in April as the LA Yarn Crawl is the 14 – 17 and…[Read more] -
