@tanja-osswald Thank you for the reassurance. I know all of those things. I think I just needed to hear it specifically directed at me. I like the idea of having my business all planned out, but the reality is that at this point I really need to spend more time working in my business and wait to work on the business until it's up and running a…[Read more]

I'm working on increasing my walking as well. I agree that 10k steps seems like a lot maybe working up to that gradually is an idea?
Luckily we have a little man made lake nearby. & I've been trying to do that. Each lap is only 15 minutes so it's pretty doable.
I think the walking, just the fact that spring is finally here & starship are what's…[Read more]

No one believes that I actually remember it. But I'm pretty sure I was awake! Had a wonderful sleep last night. What a joy.

@jill-wolcott, Jimminy! You ‘win'. I can't remember a thing that far back. Monkey brain is a good description. But that's kind of how I use the breathing thing. I keep bringing my mind back to breathing (or visualization of beaches, etc). But it is so hard to tame. I'll have to re-read your suggestions and take heed. May the force be with…[Read more]

I was having a little bit of a freak out today trying to pin down my goal. I always forget that that happens sometimes and that it's ok not to magically figure it out immediately 😉
I don't have my exact wording down for the goal (yet) but it's going to be about looking at where and how I spend my work time and looking at the results those…[Read more]

Christie, I have real trouble with the breathing thing because the reason I can't sleep is monkey brain, and so it is very hard to get it to behave and pay attention to breathing. Sometimes the visualization is the most helpful. I figure it is a fix what you can situation. I've got memories of being awake when I had to have been about 18 months…[Read more]

The breathing that Tanja mentioned and all the things Jill mentioned are what I've heard work. I recently read an article about how reading phones or tablets at night can really disrupt sleep (and it has to do with the devices' light messing with the brain…can't remember details). They didn't mention Kindles…. also, not doing exercise late…[Read more]

I loved reading everyone else's perspectives on this. So interesting!
I personally don't have a problem with it at all. I don't usually do the exact same post but sometimes do, depending. For my part, my audience is pretty different across the platforms, especially in terms of those who are responding. I wouldn't unfollow someone because they're…[Read more]

So, I've been working on this the last 2 days- I've hesitated posting because I wavered between “I'm doing it wrong” and “Am I doing this right?” and just feeling doubtful- but, I decided that it would be more beneficial to share, and get feedback from a supportive source (and a much better use of my time, resources and finances, lol!)

Thanks for the input, Captains! This person tends to pretty blunt on many topics, so I didn't take it as holy writ or anything. It did draw me up a little short, though. The chorus of replies with, “yeah! me too! I hate that too!” was from people who follow me as well, and it's like…uh…y'all see my stuff a lot…and that other person's…and…[Read more]

@lindsay-brooke, you always have permission to do what is best for your business. There is no need to use all the tools availabe in the Starship. Charting your stars and making maps can help a lot if you are stuck or uncertain where you are going or have a nagging feeling things should be different. But if you already know what to do, just go ahead!

First thing, everyone has opinions and you don't have to listen to all of them! If she's your Right People then her preferences are important, but if she's just some person you know (even if she's in your industry and seems successful from the outside), you really don't have to care what irritates her.
Also, just because people don't really like…[Read more]

I am feeling very overwhelmed by charting stars right now. I have a bare minimum income goal that I ‘have' to meet this quarter, and I'm feeling slowed down by my own ‘need' to chart stars, then make a proper map, THEN tackle the goals. I need permission to dive into the work so that I can alleviate the anxiety that I'm feeling about being ‘behind'.

I have a goal set up in Google Analytics, too, but it doesn't seem like it works consistently for me either. Would love to learn more about it, too.
I didn't even know about this whole Pretty Link or Bit.ly thing, so I might try one of those.

So I am very friendly and approachable and that's one thing that people say they like about my business.
Every so often I get a new newsletter subscriber who take it a little overboard. Typically it's a situation where they get super personal right away and I'm able to nicely stop it.
Today I have a different sort of situation. In my email…[Read more]
