Thanks everyone for all this useful goodness!! I have debated whether to take Caitlin's IG course or not. I have listened to her periscopes, etc. Thanks @katie-franceschi for the hashtag info and @alex-collins for the other IG courses. Off I go!

@joeli-kelly YAY! Just FYI, I am featuring this page in my newsletter that goes out tomorrow. I have a lot of subscribers who visit the UK or live there, so I thought to reach out to them about these events! Hope it brings some new people your way!

Okay….so the saga continues…
I have not responded to her since Tuesday.
She has sent me emails on a variety of topics from ideas for us working together to questions about jewelry making to long emails about copyright. The long emails are pretty unclear with lots of terrible grammar and misspelled words and really rambling thoughts. There…[Read more]

This is such a small win, but I find it really satisfying:
I made a page (joelicreates.com/events) where I list all events that I'm hosting or attending. Before I pushed it live I had hubby check it over because I was really worried that people would take it the wrong way and think I was trying to make out like I had some involvement in the…[Read more]

My goal for Q2 is to clean up my website and get ready for a 5-figure launch.
Milestones:
1. Every YouTube tutorial is on website. (Why? This fills out my tutorials page on my site and establishes me as a teacher. What do people use this page for? It's a good first path to my youtube channel — I can tell people at shows to go to…[Read more] -
Barbara Kish replied to the topic Searches vs. Referrer vs. Visits in the forum Engineering 9 years, 1 month ago
Yep, that's right. I could probably check with the Big Cartel folks too. But generally speaking (and I feel a little dumb here), a search means someone had to purposely go to Google and put in “Spencer Hill yarn” or the like, while a referrer means they clicked a link from Ravelry or FB or somewhere?

Thanks for the heads up, Jill. I went to her website and checked out her designer guidelines – lots of questions like you said.

Tina does amazing gradient yarn. She is all about success, so be ready to answer questions about facts and figures. You can tell her I suggested her yarn to you. I would encourage her to do it as crochet is a great market for her (which I'm sure she knows). She is awesome, but grumpy.

I don't know about Big Cartel stats specifically but to clarify for the same one day period you're seeing:
35 Google Searches
22 Referrers
9 VisitorsI'm double checking because those numbers don't add up to me either. It *is* possible that a single visitor can come in through multiple referrers; for example, let's say someone found you on…[Read more]

I don't normally work on Saturdays, but I'm playing a bit of catch-up from being out of town. My 2nd quarter goal is to redo my website.
Mile markers are:
1 – Look at other's sites to figure out what I like and don't like
2 – Research webhosts
3 – choose a template/design
4 – About Me & Social Media
5 – Wholesale & Events
6 – Book Sales & CoffeeW…[Read more] -

@jill-wolcott, thanks for the tip. I've never worked with Freia Fibers. What kind of hard questions would she ask?
@karen-whooley Yes, I've been working with Carly. 🙂 Cascade has been generous with yarn support for my book. I'm looking for something very specific for one particular project, and unfortunately they didn't have it.

@jill-wolcott I'm not 100% sure. I want to reach more of the younger generation (specifically late 20's to 40s)and I am not sure how at this point.
