Katie Franceschi replied to the topic Email Newsletter – Accountability Group? in the forum Goals, Accountability, and Celebrations! 9 years ago
Just checking in – I actually sent an email last week and one this week. I'm not trying to flood my list, but I had two distinct, yet time sensitive announcements. I should do this more often. Now that I have my retail site stocked, it's good for $375-600 in extra sales. Just from sending an email. That's not too shabby!

@jill-wolcott That's a great idea! I know part of my struggle is that I'm so busy. Spring is always crazy-busy family wise (finals for Nick, dance recital and all the accompanying increase of obligations, graduations, etc.) and normally I fall back on the fact that Yarn Love is slowing down for the summer season. This spring, demand is actually…[Read more]

As a person who struggles to get formalized exercise (I dye yarn in a split level house which naturally requires a ton of stair climbing and lifting of water/yarn buckets) in, I can't second this enough! I recently switched from 1-2 days of heavy kettlebell workouts to every other day yoga + meditation and it's got me feeling happy, centered and…[Read more]

I'm looking for (new) blog articles about knitting and crochet. It's for an online yarn retailer's blog and there is compensation. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in! It can be a one off or regular thing and I'm totally open to all topics. If you want to send me a pitch, email me: joeli@joelicreates.com
Thanks!

Hi @jen-lucas Thank you for such a helpful response. I had not considered a trunk show that sounds like a great idea and I shall do more research to see if I can make that work here in the UK.
I will drop you an email 😀 -

Thank you, @tara, that's a good point. The LYS will bring the customers, so that is a reason to teach at both places.

Angelia Robinson replied to the topic ISO recommendations for a lightbox setup in the forum Engineering 9 years ago
@lindsay-brooke I have been thinking about building a lightbox, but I just found this one for $40 on Amazon. Although I've heard you can build one for $10 or $20, there is always the value of time to consider. So I'm thinking this might well be worth it.

@elaine-vandiver, I don't know how such listings work in general. Your photo looks great. I'm puzzled about the “The Space” infos. What is half a bathroom? And you write people can sleep in a tent but you list a real bed. How does that fit?

Karen Robinson replied to the topic ISO recommendations for a lightbox setup in the forum Engineering 9 years ago
I actually don't use a lightbox. I use pieces of white foam board, one as the bottom piece and one (trifold) as the back, which I use to reflect the light. I mostly use sunlight coming in from a window as my light, but I also have an Ott light that I sometimes use if I feel the sunlight isn't enough. (Then I do a lot of photo editing to get the…[Read more]

I haven't made firm plans for when I'm coming down yet (Friday afternoon or Saturday morning)-partly because the Friday is the last day I'll see that afternoon's kids for band lessons before our spring concert, and partly because I don't know when my friend will be available I'm-done-at-work-wise. So I would like to meet up, but I can't make a…[Read more]

Going well: the high school production of “West Side Story.” I'm in the pit.
Working on: four performances of the above
How can we help? Bring me supper? 😛See you next week!

Thank you for searching that for me, @tara …I love it when someone else does my legwork. 😉 I feel like I should understand it a little better, and that it might inform some marketing-type decisions? Right?
(This week is about playing in the pit for our high school's production of “West Side Story,” and then I can get back to it. My brain is…[Read more]
