Grace Shalom Hopkins replied to the topic Refunding Digital Products in the forum Engineering 9 years ago
I sell digital books and techniques.
I have a zero refund policy. But if somebody is upset (every single time it has been because that person was not the kind of person who should be using a digital product in the first place. Super old school, can't use a computer kind of thing…) I always work to fix it.
My few negative reviews all speak…[Read more]

Woaza – I agree with @marcia! You've blown it out of the water – thank you!
First off, you addressed my old friend proof reading errors. Ugh. I am dyslexic and feel like if I don't just let those go I would never produce anything ever because I can't afford to have somebody run around behind me every time I write a sentence…[Read more]

Amy Crook started the topic Patreon yay to celebrate! in the forum Goals, Accountability, and Celebrations! 9 years ago
For those unfamiliar, I have an account on Patreon with various pledge levels. $1 gets you access to the feed, $3 gets you a monthly wallpaper, $5 & $10 gets you sketches, etc, on a monthly basis — I get money to make art, and people who support me get more art!
I had one person who had raised from $1 to $3 back in January when I introduced the…[Read more]

I get it too. I'm not at burnout, but overtired. Last week was production week for the spring show at the high school, and I play in the pit. I love doing it, but it's a very intense week and everything else goes out the window (including eating and sleeping like a normal human). Our spring break starts in two days, which is REALLY late, and the…[Read more]

@sasha-torres (((Hugs))) to you. I think a lot of us go through this. At least I did about a year ago. Probably still going through, quite frankly. In my experience, coping with burnout more of a process. I dealt with it by exploring different methods of self care. I began to examine my spiritual beliefs; got lots of pedicures; started seeing a…[Read more]

I've got a bit of a bug up my saddle about this, so I'm just going to share my thoughts.
If you pay in yarn, which I will point out no one can eat or pay bills with, you should compensate at wholesale price, not retail.
I don't have a real problem with your fee amount since you are giving back rights.
That said, I think the overall trend to…[Read more]

Thanks for your thoughts, @kimberlie-kohler! I like how you have a “learning guarantee”–that's a great idea. Thanks again for sharing what's worked for you. 🙂

I am just here to offer hugs and encouragement to take care of yourself – allow the grieving and the freedom to sleep, eat healthy food and enjoy the sunshine. If you enjoy reading just read some non-business fun stuff (I like murder mysteries as “fun” reading!)
I have dealt with “clinical depression” I am new in this business so I can't relate…[Read more]

Didn't do quite as much as my BIG goal, but it was a good weekend. Made about 70% of my goal and got a few orders and a few potential orders and some interesting contact possibilities. If I count the orders as sales too, I would come really close to my goal. I didn't count those yet since I have to order supplies and get them made, before…[Read more]

Thanks @mary-roth. I did mean to link. ;(
@sasha-torres I like to tote up what I get done. Maybe a list of all the things you have gotten done, even if unrelated to what you wish you had energy and time to do.

I think @jill-wolcott meant to link to this thread (correct me if I'm wrong!) which I started after having a mini-meltdown in Chat a few weeks ago about how stuck in a rut and unmotivated I was feeling and I asked a VERY similar question– what does everyone else do to pick themselves back up and actually DO the things that need to be done? I need…[Read more]

I looked at your listings when you first posted this thread and thought “gosh, that's a lot of words. I'll come back to it a little later.” And I am coming back to it later, but I also thought it would be good to point out that other people–potential buyers–might have that same thought but then not come back. So cutting down on the length might…[Read more]
