I was in NYC this weekend, and since I might be retired before tickets to “Hamilton” will be available, I saw “Kinky Boots” instead.
OMG I HAVEN'T LAUGHED SO HARD IN FOREVER. Go see it. NOW. Hurry up. You'll thank me for it.
(That is all.)
(ETA: OK, I suppose we could talk about other shows you've seen, on stage or movie version that you…[Read more]

::sheepish grin:: I feel a lot more sorted.
To top things off, I'm able to pick up a small amount of two of my usual bases (even the one that annoys me) so that I can have a nice assortment for consignment that's separate from what's listed online, without placing a heeyooge wholesale order. Trying to keep those straight has always driven me…[Read more]

Your account of dealing with the farmers made me smile, @barbara-kish. I think what you did in those emails actually was marketing – telling your people why they should work with you.
You sound a lot more sorted, now. That's great! -

@barbara-kish, I like the idea of easing over to your preferred yarns as you see out of old stuff, and can afford to move ahead. The sooner you sell the current stuff, the sooner you can make a change and, as you say, it is a nice learning opportunity. Getting that one new fiber will probably be the motivation to carry you through to the…[Read more]

I've just gotten my first “Best in Show Award” (Today!) in a juried art exhibition which open on Friday. I will then be included in a “Winners Show” at the same art center with 3 other artists in September. I also have another art first, a one person show scheduled for July (it's totally not at a museum, just at a local healing art center. But…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald and @jill-wolcott, thank you. 🙂 I have a call in to my finance/tax/accounting guy about the money thing. I think I mentioned somewhere that as I prepared for that March show, I ran out of EVERYTHING…shopping bags, the most expensive dyes, the cardstock I use for yarn labels, even my stupid receipt book. It was almost comical,…[Read more]

It is always good to write things down to clear one's mind, @barbara-kish.
As to your question: You wrote a lot of things you want to happen or to do. Which one is most important? Do you need more money right away? Do you need to feel better about what you are selling?
If money is not that important, I'd go for re-organizing your business into…[Read more] -

@jill-wolcott, that would be wonderful, thank you! I have the information and stuff, just not the technical part to make it happen. And May would be just fine…certainly after the 18th, which is my last spring concert. 😛

@barbara-kish I can help with the ad when you get to it–as long as it is in May, not April.
