@lindsay-brooke I will check it out – thanks for the mention! I'm still defining and refining what I need for my scheduling. Todoist is good, but I have to maintain my dye schedule on a separate calendar, so perhaps Insightly would be better. I love new & helpful things!

@katie-franceschi Hey! You may have found a system that works for you already, but I just came across http://www.insightly.com and thought of you. I'm finding that it does everything that I need in a really intuitive way without a lot of fluff. It's a project management tool, but it also has client/customer management too which is great for me as I'm…[Read more]

Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing some answers to Tara's questions that aren't shortened and directed at a customer audience for IG, etc!

Hi, I did get in after I posted that yesterday. I downloaded the workbook, and worked through the first lessons this morning. This is what I have come up with:
My Dream Biz: More writing about and exploring knitting, with a little more help so I don't have to spend time doing every, single, thing. I want to get most of my income from…[Read more]

My days 1 & 2:
My dream business is exactly what I do now, just with more income. I'm working towards that and know a couple of things I can make work better.
My internal mission is to do what I love and live off it.
My external mission is to take crochet to a new level of sophistication and make it easy for my customers to come along. -

@karen-whooley I see this and I will get back to answering it. Things are just manic right now & I'm going out of town next week too, so I know I won't get to answering this before I leave. But I've got a note written to come back and give you my thoughts. xx

I signed up yesterday but didn't get the email with the workbook. I tried again an hour ago with the same result. Then I realized I didn't get the weekly Starship email either. And yes, I checked my junk folder.
Is there anything you can do, @jess-cook?

I tried to sign up, but can't get it to accept me. Is it closed?

For Day 2, it has been pretty easy for me to come up with my Internal Mission, because that was kind of the whole motivation for me starting my new website, my online course, etc. – I want more financial freedom and not to have my income 100% tied to hours worked in a week or the number of clients I have.
So my Internal Mission for my…[Read more]

YES, @karen-whooley I have that same goal – for “the income to be at a point where I don't feel guilty taking time off.”
Right now I'm at a point where I can do that once in a while, but I'd really love to be at a point where I could do it more often – like, once a week I take the kids to the beach and don't worry about work, and 2 weeks a year I…[Read more]

Thanks Linda! I adjusted things a bit more and changed the colors to have less red. I hope to add shopping to the site sometime, but want to get everything set up correctly first. Does it look better now?

My dream business is to do what I am doing now, but with more flexibility to actually work less hours a day but still have more income coming in every year. Id like to have more flexibility in what I actually do (designing, teaching etc) and be able to afford to pay more for someone else to do stuff like Social Media. I'd also like the income to…[Read more]

Thank you @tanja-osswald and @dana-gervais. I think that you both have wonderful ideas. I was going to tell her that she would be the only person with signage, etc. and a line just for the event is a great idea! I would love to take advantage of the offer.

Dana Gervais replied to the topic VKLive Trunk Show Exclusive. in the forum Engineering 9 years, 3 months ago
Can you provide exclusivity by creating a line of markers just for VKN live? That way your vendor is guaranteed to be the only seller who has them.
In Toronto, we have an annual event called the ‘Knitter's Frolic' and every year IndigoDragonfly (yarn dyer) dyes a batch of yarn in an exclusive Knitter's Frolic colourway. People line up to get…[Read more]

What a nice idea!
I think the only way you can answer is by honesty. The worst case is that you promise her it is going her way and then have her discover on the show that it is not so. Maybe check the list of vendors first. Are there any that have your markers?
If there are, you have to decide what is more awkward: turn down her offer or ask the…[Read more] -

I have to go get my teeth cleaned in a minute so I don't have a ton of time but I'm going to try to put out my ideas from Day 1 here:
So basically what I want in my dream business is very similar to what I have now (for those of you who don't know, I'm a Virtual Assistant – I work for Tara and a handful of other awesome biz owners). So that's the…[Read more]

Maybe you could share images of things like course handouts, or knitting supplies? I noticed today that @karen-whooley shared an awesome beach image for her dream of having a BIG business, so it doesn't always have to be directly related?
My business is all done digitally, so today I took a photo of the actual notebook where I wrote my answers to…[Read more]
