If you don't have very many items to record, doing the accounting by hand on a cute printable might be fun. But if you have a lot of line items, then you'll probably want to try to keep records electronically. Or perhaps do both, though that'll mean transferring the print items to your electronic records, which feels like a lot of extra work.

Hi!
I am finally forcing myself to face down the money 😀 (I first decided Tara was the right mentor for me because she described my ‘ick' about cash perfectly lol).I am going to faithfully spend a half hour a week (that's all I need right now) to deal with my business accounts, filing away my receipts/invoices etc.
What I'm looking for is a…[Read more]

S Katherine Sanders replied to the topic Focus: should I – do I have to – limit myself to one business? in the forum Engineering 9 years, 1 month ago
Hahahaha @tanja-osswald I have never yet met anyone who enjoys housework… although I'm sure there's someone! I think my problem is that they use SO MUCH of my energy and focus that there's nothing left for the business, so the balance needs to be tweaked, clearly 🙂
I am currently having to print out all my receipts, invoices and bills for the…[Read more]

What's going well?
My book is at the publisher's!
My MCAL (= mystery crochet along) started last Friday and it is fun to see all those projects grow.Whatcha' workin' on?
My goal for this week: relax (starting yesterday, since up to then it was “finish the book”). I'm crocheting the owl from the book in two more sizes…[Read more]

Ah ha! Lightbulb moment, thanks to @jill-wolcott @linda-tieu & @tanja-osswald
My North Star is: “Be in the world”
It's what I have been working towards for a long time, without really knowing it, through different approaches. It names the reason behind some key areas I mind mapped (purpose, income, autonomy, values, connection). It means…[Read more]

Don't we all want to skip the house chores? 🙂
As for dolls&clothing: If you are contemplating them to be part of your business, you have to view them from a business perspective. So, do the math.
By the way, if you sell your dolls as pure works of art, are there regulations, as well? -

@james-bartley, I always thought North Stars are just there – the point is to realize that you are following them. E.g. you might have trouble having an active online presence when you secretly wish to just spend more time with your children. If you are clear on what you really want, it is easier to fit the rest in (for the example: get up an hour…[Read more]

I'd say it is a mile marker.
The to-dos would be: find interesting topics, open a file on your computer/ dedicate a notebook where you can write them down, make a stylesheet (if you plan to have them all in a similar format)… -

Ok, if @tara has a preference on either, let's go with that. I think most if not all of us are going to Tara's event on Wednesday (I know Laurinda and I are too!)

@kimberley-bridgwater That's so helpful 🙂 I think I will add “understand Ravelry and conquer it” as a goal for 2017. You can bet I will be asking for help – I'll need it! LOL
I understand what you're saying about folks liking to get their patterns there – I get it.
I am a big picture kinda gal. Looking at rav numbers, as in folks who use it…[Read more]

I'm having trouble with my mile markers…
Would “Blog Posts planned July, Aug, and Sept” be a mile marker or to do?

I know you've stated earlier that you've chosen not to use Ravelry for preorders of the ebook @shelley-husband but I just wanted to add some additional information to what Karen has explained. Ravelry does not have a special preorder setup. Designers set up the ebook page and in the description state it's a preorder with a release date of August…[Read more]

On Wednesday , I have an hour from 12-1 between sessions. I'm taking the morning session Mastering Crochet the CGOA way and Tara's class in the afternoon. On Thursday I have a break between classes from 12-2. Let me know if these times will work for anyone.
Breakfast before classes would work for me too -
