For some reason I didn't get notified of posts to this thread today, so I forgot. I didn't have time, but still.
What's going well?
Packing. I feel that all I've really done is work on getting ready for this move and a little knitting. I was a little crabby last night and I couldn't decide if it was because Mitch got stuck in his office until 8:15…[Read more] -

Working on: Getting settled back into my routine. After the Houston Fiber Festival, I had a few days to rest and then my son and I flew up to Boston to meet my husband who was there on a business trip. We had a nice little vacation and got home last night. I now have no major travel plans coming up for a while, so I'm happy to be able to get back…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald: Yay for getting your book done! I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing week!
@barbara-kish: I, too, applied for the Indie Untangled trunk show but was wait listed. So it's good to know I'm in good company. 🙂 Good for you for contacting the other show and getting into it! And yay for the trunk show in Brooklyn!

Have you watched this TED talk: Why some of us don't have one true calling? The speaker talks about multipotentialites.
I've felt like I've gone through a lot of different paths in my life, and I wondered why I didn't have that one thing that just absolutely felt like it was my true calling. Aren't we supposed to have that? Listening to this talk…[Read more]

I keep my inventory in an Excel spreadsheet. Actually, two spreadsheets.
For one, I have all the bases listed with the colors so I can keep track of exactly what I have dyed. I also track which colors on which bases sold at each show I attend. For the other spreadsheet, I keep a “master” inventory, where I track how many of each base I've bought,…[Read more]

That's really helpful thanks @jess-cook
I will add it to my list of things to think about on this problem. I have sorted it for now for the current ebook, but have a lot to organise so things are ready for the next one 🙂

If you're of a mind to read my post in today's (July 6) weekly check-in, you'll read that I've gone from two shows to probably four between now and early October; also on a waiting list for one, and a trunk show in Brooklyn sometime in November/December. I was prepared for two. Only one of these is a repeat show, and I was pretty successful…[Read more]

What's going well?
Boy, last Friday I was a sad panda. I had applied to the Indie Untangled Trunk Show in Rhinebeck (the Friday of NYS Sheep & Wool, but an independent event). I knew it was a long shot, but I didn't get in and I was kind of bummed. Then on Saturday, on a whim, I emailed another festival near me whose deadline had passed about two…[Read more] -

When you feel like tackling it, there's Google Sheets too (their version of Excel without quite so many bells and whistles). I wish my mom could come visit you…she LOVES Excel and is a great teacher!

“I don’t have very many commissions although people who see my work love it – that’s why I’m here I suppose, to figure how to get it out to more people, to get more organised, to make it more professional.”
“I’m having palpitations just figuring out how to get through them and of course, that’s more investment..”
“Hmmm. I don’t know how much…[Read more]

Hi @shelley-husband! I just wanted to throw out another option for you – Gumroad.
Basically you can go to Gumroad.com and set up your product listing as a pre-order. Selling your product through Gumroad is free (it says you start at $10/mo but that's only with more advanced features), and it allows you to let people pre-pay for something that…[Read more]

Breakfast on thursday (before you all go to class!) would be great for me (and it seems to fit the most people)?
(I'm also in for dinner on Wed, if you want!)Lunch on Wed doesn't work for me, as I never eat normally before a class (esp a 4 hour one) and need some Introvert pre-recovery 🙂
So yes! Breakfast Thurs! Maybe in the hotel? Or right…[Read more]
