Hi @tanja-osswald! We don't actually put that course in the Library, but we send it out for free to all Starship Captains, via e-mail, each year about early to mid-November. So just watch your inbox and you'll get it there!
Thanks! -

Do you all know if there is a SM planner like HootSuite that allows you to schedule for FB, Twitter, IG and Pintrest?

Just a small tip from me to add to all the wonderful advice – this is what I do. I write my to do lists in my planner- i sit down once a week and list my tasks for the coming week. The tip is instead of crossing off stuff that's done – highlight it instead. This way you can still see what it was you did and can use it to look back at…[Read more]

I track all of my biz stuff in my bullet journal – from daily/weekly/monthly to-do lists to weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual review and planning, map-making, goals, etc.
Of course I'm not always on top of it and don't always do each thing on that list 😉
When I do a review (for any of those time periods), I always have a section for…[Read more]

Dawn Craig replied to the topic Which header do you like best? in the forum Engineering 8 years, 10 months ago
I was thinking of taking the the sm icons out too and putting them in the sidebar. I was planning to put them up in the header so they are in the same place everywhere on my site. I might be able to move them up a little, but don't remember if that's in the theme options or not. I know I was able to tweek where my logo was a little.
I've had…[Read more]

Dawn Craig replied to the topic Inventory Management HALP HALP HALP in the forum Engineering 8 years, 10 months ago
I've started keeping all my inventory in Square, that way when I sell something at shows it takes it out of my inventory. When I'm getting ready to dye more I choose my colorways and search for them and write down the bases I have them in so I don't dye more (this way all in one base is one dye lot).
As for ordering bases, I look at how much…[Read more]

Without trying to rewrite it for you, since I don't really know you, I would say that you could re-order what you already have to make a big change.
Switch it so it goes: paragraph 3, then 4, then 2, then 1. I'd suggest scrapping 1 altogether to be honest.
Now the pertinent personal info is up close, followed by an example of your work,…[Read more]

I'm not a yarn seller at all, but here's my tuppence worth.
Work out your average sell at your previous shows, then multiply that by the shows you have coming. Add 10% if you can risk it / you can afford it – to plan for the best outcome. Use any common sense info you have to hand to tweak the number. I.e. you know one show is small and has…[Read more]

James Bartley replied to the topic Which header do you like best? in the forum Engineering 8 years, 10 months ago
For me, it's a question of what you want me to look at. In the FTK one, I start by looking at your name then the menu. In this sense, it establishes who you are before I start browsing, which is a good idea, and a reason I would support the FTK header.
(I don't like the placement of the SM icons in the FTK one though, they cramp the wording and…[Read more]

James Bartley replied to the topic Income Goal? in the forum Engineering 8 years, 10 months ago
Since it's a goal, it doesn't need to be perfect – it can be changed as you learn more. So I would say that picking a number that you currently believe will cover costs is a perfectly fine number to work with. If that number changes, then you update your goal, and your plans, accordingly.
If you start to exceed that goal – what a lovely problem…[Read more]

James Bartley replied to the topic SEO especially Alt text in the forum Engineering 8 years, 10 months ago
Alt text is really useful for visually impaired users, since it is a text description of the image. How much time you put into it is upto you, but it wants to be a description of what can be seen, e.g. a green and yellow striped skein of yarn – since google will probably use that to help with searches, I imagine it would be a good SEO tool too?
