Do you mean a graphic with the title of the blog post? I think those are really good at keeping your social media posts ‘on brand'. I don't read a lot of blogs anymore, but when I scroll pinterest and other social media there is a definite brand recognition factor to certain blogs and websites who use consistent graphics.

@linda-tieu, I have found that the most important thing is to do what works for you. I'm not great at writing ahead as I like the spontaneity of writing what is going on more immediately. I do a Monday and Friday blog which are more personal or just what I'm thinking about (I do a lot of that) and on Tuesdays I write what I call knitting…[Read more]

Hi all- I need help trying to figure out how to price classes when I'm teaching out of town.
I typically charge a local store for teaching time, reimbursement of travel expenses, and reimbursement of meals. I have recently been asked to teach at a store that is about 5 hours away (each direction), and I’m not sure how to build this in to my t…[Read more]

Yay for seeing what you needed to change to get a task done. That's one thing I've learned too, seeing what the problem is, is usually half or more of the battle for me. A lot of times I'll know there's a problem and not see what it is or there's a problem and it's going right over my head. I tend to get tunnel vision a lot of times and run…[Read more]

I'm posting 3 times a week. One post is shop related (anything from behind the scenes to giveaway to shop update). Twice a month a do a tutorial (I'm going to start a cast on series in Aug) and once a month a feature a shop. The other days post things I think my customers would find helpful and enjoy. I might create more of a schedule down the…[Read more]

Whatcha workin on?
This week I'm getting stuck into the writing for my upcoming CAL and Wrangle your Time course. I'm spending time creating checklists for my most common tasks, formalising my systems. So that's all good 🙂
I'm also working with someone to upgrade my blog shop to a much easier buyer experience and create a pretty home page.…[Read more]

I finished lesson 2 yesterday. 🙂
I have found I am not too bad at doing things when I have time. I do already set aside work time with specific tasks, but there's room for improvement in focus and planning.
The course has made me think more about the stuff I do all the time and I'm starting to set up checklists for my most common…[Read more]

I'm wondering if you all think title pictures would help my knitting blog or if I should stick to the pictures that are just part of my post. I'm mostly thinking for SM. And should I make it and just use it on SM and not put it in my blog or should put as an actual title picture?

I second Varian's proposal:
how to attend big trade shows as non-vendor. What can get out of it. Contacts, follow ups, etc.
And maybe something I've read about in the Artist's Way: There's the myth that creatives have to be on their own, fight their own fight, do their own thing, somewhere in a lonely cave in the desert. And there has been a…[Read more]

I have another question for those of you who have used Ingram Spark (would love to hear your thoughts, @karen-whooley :)) . . . Although my book is currently listed on Amazon, it is listed as “Temporarily Out of Stock”. Amazon says this is a distributor issue. And when I've talked to IngramSpark . . . you guessed it. They say it is an Amazon…[Read more]

Wow @s589886! I think you have worked through a lot! May I recommend a timer for getting to stuff. Set it for 15/30/45 then put you butt in the chair. Since you've limited the time obligation it becomes possible. As a rebel I find I need all kinds of devices to make me behave.
