I'm hoping with a name like Starship there are fellow Star Trek fans up in here.
I for one LOVED IT. Saw it twice opening weekend and my Star Trek fangirl heart grew 3 sizes that day. This was the movie I wanted Star Trek Into Darkness to be. Hands down my new favorite.
Thank God for the writers respecting the spirit of the original material…[Read more]

My first monthly reorient and reassess – here goes!
July 2016
Ok so a lot has happened and a lot has gotten done in July.I have had my biggest month of sales to date. Hooray. The downside is (ignoring royalties) I have also had my biggest month of expenses to date too LOL – ah well.
I have reached 3/4 of break even on new ebook and it's…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald that makes complete sense. Thank you for your insight. I think I will do that evaluation and see how I feel after looking at the straight up numbers. 😀
@dawn-craig glad I'm not the only one who has felt this! They are silly, aren't they haha. I'll jump into Wrangle Your Time next. It seems like it's exactly what I need right now.…[Read more]

Yes I know just what you mean @nessa-jay! Tara talks about it in Wrangle Your Time and that's when I realized the silly rules I have. Now that I know I have them and see how silly they are when they pop up I do like Tanja said and reframe it. Remind myself that it is work and I'm not just wasting time.

@nessa-jay, I know the feeling. There's two ways to deal with it: If you have the time, do both, the side stuff and the “real” work. If you don't have the time, you can re-frame your evaluation. As you say yourself, working on your blog will eventually make you money. So, of course it is proper business work. You can even measure the impact: Make…[Read more]

How did it go?
July was my first month on the Starship and it was a bit rocky (but ultimately in a good way).I was very distracted with travel and then getting sick for the rest of the month. Sales took a huge dive as they usually do this time of the year but I was prepared financially as last month went really well.
I was feeling really…[Read more]

So I realized my Q3 goals were way too unrealistic. I'm redoing my map right now.
A thought that keeps coming up is the guilt of working on my business instead of in my business. So, for example, I know that working on my blog will help me get subscribers which in turn will help me build relationships and make sales BUT I feel like I “should”…[Read more]

July 2016 – Monthly review check in
July has been a really good month for a couple of my main objectives. Both money and structure are progressing!
I've doubled my planned income goals for the rest of 2016, time will tell if that is a reasonable readjustment or crazy-making stress-inducing silliness.
I've got a lot more processes put in place,…[Read more]

I finished lesson 1!!!!!!!! I'm so happy because I was struggling with it a lot. So my boil down sentences:

I use Rafflecopter for giveaways in my editing business and you can copy the code to insert directly into your website. It's pretty easy to use and allows for lots of different options for people to get entries for the giveaway.

What giveaway website do you all use? I want to include my IG and maybe mailing list as entries. It's going to be on my blog so if it integrates with WP or is a WP plug in that would be great.

I filed my annual CA sales taxes!
It took 2 hours of work with excel and google and their stupid online form to give them $35, but it's done. Ugh, district taxes are the WORST.
But, yay, done!

Whatcha workin on?
Today, I'm finishing up a custom order that came in last week. Also starting to rework my map. What’s going well?
After my trip and getting sick for 2+ weeks I'm finally getting back into the normal routine and not feeling so crappy.
How can we help?
I'm good, just flailing a little bit with what to do next.

Whatcha workin on?
This week, I'm working on self-care. The superBetter book arrived today and I read the first couple of pages. And I've started working through The Artist's Way once more.
Besides, I have to work on clue 5 of my mystery before posting it on Friday – one proper work goal for the remainder of this month.
What’s going w…[Read more] -
