Now that I can catch my breath, it's time to turn my attention to getting my blog up to speed, and I can start doing my bit to promote all this neato-keen stuff I see here! I can do it on my FB page too…except I block myself out of FB during the day. (I could learn some self-control too, but as someone smarter than me said, “eliminate…[Read more]

Zombie thread! I just finished a show wherein I was able to use Big Cartel's app, which meant counting every skein of yarn I brought with me to load into the store before I went. It too takes out anything sold automatically, so I didn't have to re-count when I got home, which meant I could re-open the shop immediately. That's a beautiful thing. I…[Read more]

I am not sure if I am going to make it to chat today. so I decided I better check in here while I am thinking about it!
What's going well:
Getting things organized. It a little rough going because I am doing all of this as I am preparing to get my 2 kids off to college on August 12-17th. Everything gets interrupted, but I am checking things off…[Read more] -

Thanks, @tara, and I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner-I was out of town, and when I got back, I swung right into getting ready for a show, so this is the first time I've been to the Starship in a while! I have gotten a lot of good suggestions here. Maybe part of the problem is that I actually *do* get to choose. My salary has been handed to me for 24…[Read more]

Comparisons, or at least descriptions of some of the workflow tools available online-MailChimp, Tiny Letter, Constant Contact, ConvertKit (and that's just mail). Edgar, Zapier; Trello, ZenDesk, etc. Why you might need one but not another (i.e., if you're just starting out, Edgar is probably more than you need for social media coordination). An…[Read more]

You could add in a printable of some kind to go with the checklist, maybe a page or two with triangles for paper bunting, they can print as many as they want and cut/assemble? Tips and tricks for making a pinata fun for everyone is a good idea, too. I love the checklists, too, especially if you style them a little to go with your branding.

Think about something that is related to why your people are buying your piñatas. I'm assuming it's because they're having a party or celebration. So brainstorm some party planning types of things: a checklist of things to do to get ready for a party, a list of 5 things they can do to make their party a success, other recommended items to…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I'm taking Tara's Creative Live class ‘Marketing for Crafters' and I'm feeling stuck. I'm on page 37 of the workbook and the topic is creating your opt in for mailing list subscribers.

Yay, @shelley-husband, that sounds great!!
I agree, “always be working” is an unrealistic expectation, but it's one I find myself falling into, particularly on a week where my To Do list is pretty full. I've also often had the problem of filling my “working” time with other things. I can see that happen because I write down the time I spend…[Read more]
