Good for you for coming to a solution that works for YOU!! I think this all can just be chalked up to a learning experience – next time you'll know to dye more, and you can come up with a policy in advance for a contingency plan if you run out (and it's totally OK for that plan to be – I ran out, sorry! Come back next year!).

Hi Krista,
How fun! I love your ornaments, they're so realistic and adorable!!
Here are my notes:
1) Is there a reason for so much white space as a border on the pages? I had to zoom in to read all the text, so if you're sending this catalog digitally you may want to consider skipping the border and filling all the space on the page, which will…[Read more] -

Great that you made your first catalog! Your ornaments are very cute and the catalog looks professional.
Some things I noticed:
– You just offer dogs, what about cats? Or a fish? It is a bit strange that you have only dogs while you write in your self-description that you are a cat owner.
– The writing is hard to read. On the first page, C and G…[Read more] -

Yikes! I have just learned InDesign and put together my first catalog. I am going to be sending it out to a few high end pet boutiques later this week. I would love to get some feedback about any areas that may need to be tweaked in order to make this the best possible catalog. Give it to me I really want honest feedback. Here is the…[Read more]

Thanks @dawn-craig I'll give it another listen too. Good idea 🙂

I had trouble with that too… I took more than a week for the first lesson and the second lesson it's looking like it going to take more than 2 weeks (though I haven't had much time to work on it last week). Listening to the class several times helped me a lot. You'll get it!

Hello fellow CYM folks 🙂
I have completed lesson 1 (Chapters 1 & 2). I'm not 100% happy with it – the final statement is still a bit bland and robotic sounding, but it's a start I guess. It's hard! I will go back and re-read and tweak my words before I start lesson 2.
It's the combining all the thoughts into a coherent, declarative sentence or…[Read more]

Wow @linda-tieu that is one impressive page! You've done a great job 🙂 I have one small suggestion for you if you're wanting some feedback – I'd add “per month” or similar to all your mentions of the price. Some folks may think it's a one off payment. Just a suggestion from fresh eyes – I know its clear on the actual sign up page and you may…[Read more]

Glad you found a solution that works for you and I agree, you have to know your priorities and in your situations I think I'd choose the same thing.

Thanks everyone!
I think at show orders would have been the way to go… but I'm not set up to do it and overwhelmed since I am here on my own. Also I took a good hard look at the next couple weeks and realized that I don't want to spend the last week of summer w my kids overextended and stressed. Also people were much kinder about it yesterday!…[Read more] -

Thank you @tanja-osswald You're right – I need to accept this is how it is. I know from experience it is. Next time I will schedule to allow for it. I have made plans for today to go out for lunch with friends and have a crafternoon and it's made me feel better already. I am sure I won't sleep well tonight LOL but I also know I'll be up…[Read more]

Thank you @kathi-snodgrass 🙂 your advice is sound! I have been skipping a walk a lot lately – in fact it's been weeks since I did go for a walk. The weather has been very wintery, but I shouldn't let that stop me – it's not that bad. I will add a daily walk back into my schedule and make sure I don't miss it! I might start with a big one to…[Read more]

Thank you @jennie-moraitis 🙂 I love the idea of a bit of a celebrate 🙂 I think I'll add in a facial, massage or something to last few days before the next launch when I know I will un-productive. Tomorrow is the big day and I've planned a tech free day for all of us, once I've made sure the pre-orders have all gone out. So some family fun…[Read more]

@tanja-osswald and @jill-wolcott You guys have given me some good ideas! Bit by bit I've been going through the clutter on my desk though I'm not to the pile of yarn and samples yet. I saw some clear plastic stacking bins online that look like a good size and shape for the works in progress. I want to see if I can find them locally.
I'm…[Read more]

@riin-gill I've now got my contact in and coffee so I can think about a better response!
I have swatches that I just throw into a box for later consideration. I hang swatches above my desk so I can look at them (this is currently not available as I haven't reattached the wire I use), and some of them, the ones I want for ongoing reference, I put…[Read more]
