what's going well? Big news: I bought a new-to-me car! I was as surprised as E. We were sort of beginning to look and we didn't expect to make a decision last Friday. When I test drove it, E was amazed how quickly and completely I seemed comfortable behind the wheel, as was I. So we went for it (low mileage, nice trim level, great price). What's…[Read more]

Whatcha working on?
I am still, yes, unpacking. I now just have islands of things that I need to sort through. My immediate goal is to get rid of a box of stuff from the garage every day this week. I’ll have that finished, by Monday, then I can sort through this lingering stuff in my office. What’s going Well?
I am working on a redo of a redo of…[Read more] -

Whatcha workin on?
I'm tackling my big mountain of almost-finished patterns, one at a time. What’s going well?
I just uploaded Harald, a fly pattern.
A yarn dyer friend called this morning and we discussed our cooperative book.
And since I should go off-line after a pattern launch anyway, I'll go to my LYS and grab some more yarn to finish my k…[Read more] -

Thanks so much @jess-cook 🙂 I'm feeling a lot better now it's out there as I knew I would 🙂
I will definitely plan for it next time and keep other stuff to a bare minimum as you say. I am taking it a bit easy this week not doing anything too brain draining 🙂
I'll start planning the next big thing next week.

Thanks to everyone for all of the encouragement and feedback. I think I just worked on this catalog for so long I got too close to it. I've got my work cut out for me but fortunately it is all doable.
@tanja-osswald I make cat ornaments too but decided after I got started to separate the cats and dogs because some of the shops I am targeting…[Read more]

@krista-benskin I agree with everyone else's comments. I am only chiming in to say, yes, make it much more about the customer (and their customer) and, if you have any InDesign questions, let me know. I've been using it for years.

One more thing: You write that you were worried that glass is harmful if you have animals in the house – how safe are the ornaments, exactly? Just not splintering when they break or are they safe to eat?

Great job Krista! I agree with the things Tanja and Jess have said. These ornaments are really great!!! I have three dogs myself so will you be offering these on your website??

Yay, happy launch time!!!
I agree with what the others have said – for your next launch plan, include a lot of down time. Either totally unplugged time, or time that you ONLY focus on the absolute bare essentials of keeping your business running. Don't plan any big work, major projects, etc. If you get an email asking you to do something, have an…[Read more]
