Groups are not something I have ever paid much attention to – clearly I need to. Thanks so much for your help. Great idea about yarn companies too. I will see what I can find.

I try to add lots of attributes, but didn't know I could edit them so thank you – I will make that part of my process to revamp each pattern. Photography is always something to work on – I think most of mine are ok, but there are some that definitely need fixing.

I can just repeat what the others have said:

– Make sure you have good pictures, that work well in the square cropping Ravelry does for thumbnails.
– List all your patterns in the database, so people see you are an experienced designer – and they can link to all the projects they've made from your patterns.
– Interact on the forums.

I just submitted my first ad to Ravelry. It will be a banner ad and I more or less randomly selected the groups to run it in – I'm very curious what will haven. It needs to be approved first, so I will have to wait up to a week till I see it.
