@penny-shima-glanz, would you be interested in non-Starship participants, too? I have a designer friend who I think would love the opportunity.
What's going well? In the last week, I published two patterns (a softie and a pair of mitts) and the mitts started selling immediately. Yesterday, I made my first banner ad and submitted it to Ravelry. It…[Read more]

Stranger Things is really good! We have two episodes to go, and I'm going to have to wait until my stepson is with us again to watch them. It will be hard to wait 🙂 And they've just announced a second season coming in 2017.

what's going well? crossing things off the list despite being incredibly exhausted. i think all the work we've done on the house this summer + we aren't sleeping well for reasons we haven't identified + i started seriously running again wiped me out this week.
what are you working on? almost ready to re-release that pattern. i decided i should…[Read more]

Thanks so much, Barbara! That's really helpful. I'll be sure to start with a swatch when I decide what I want to do with the yarn to see how it behaves. I've saved this info to come back to it then. 🙂

Thanks @tanja-osswald I do every now and then scroll through projects and request to feature photos & sometimes comment. I only do it a few times a year though so will add it to my schedule of things to do at least once a month.
Thank you!

STAND BACK, I'M ABOUT TO DO SCIENCE HERE!!!
Indigo is generally wash- and light-fast, but not abrasion-fast (which is crocking). Now, when I say wash-fast, the indigo pigment has to have fully-attached to the fiber for that to be true. If something doesn't…[Read more]

@isabel-mckay, OMG if you ever get a chance to see “Kinky Boots” live, jump at it! I did this past spring, off-Broadway, and I hadn't laughed so hard in such a long time. 😀

I haven't watched Voyager for a couple decades but I like it when I did!
I've been hearing good things about Strange Things too @krista-benskin. I think I will check it out when time (and attention span) allows.
I just watched My Mad Fat Diary on Hulu. It was very good. Very intense with regards to teenage angst but very good.

Hi Riin,
Congratulations on AwesomeYarn! I kind of thought The Church of Yarn was brilliant – but I can see how you'd be wary. 🙂
