Don't get discouraged @susan-heyn!You will likely be surprised by what they say–it won't be about you. Publications are seriously strapped for resources and having to pick and choose a lot.

@susan-heyn I agree with Karen, but want to add that if after sussing it out you see that it wasn't the right fit, consider if there are other venues to look at.

I am sorry that they didn't pick them up! It would actually be a great thing if you emailed them to ask what exactly they meant by it being to narrow. Just approach it in way that lets them know that you want to know how to make them better and to find out what they are looking for.

Since I consider myself mostly a marketing idiot, I was pleased when I noticed today that my newsletter grew by 55 subscribers from the first week of August to last week, and grew by 24 subscribers this week. Apparently I hadn't been taking note, but it had been holding steady for about three months, so that's a relief.
