Thanks @jess-cook! I noticed that as well. I'll add that in to remind myself.
I lived a past life as a professional PowerPoint monkey at Ford. Nice to know I still have the knack!

You've gotten some great feedback here, Susan, so I hope you also get something good from the publisher!
I think the important thing to remember is how you frame this – it's not a loss, it's an opportunity to improve your proposal and really rock it the next time.
Good luck!

When I buy something I expect to get the PayPal receipt in addition to a payment receipt from the website owner, so I wouldn't worry about that part.
I would say, spam that login link everywhere so that you don't get a bunch of emails from people who've forgotten it. If possible, add it to the thank you message on the page that Woo Commerce sends…[Read more]

It looks really great, Karen! The slides are SO professional & polished, this is going to be a WOW presentation!!
I love that you're showing that you don't have to be the next Anna Maria Horner to make a living in this industry, and that you can carve out a niche for yourself just by being the best YOU there is and doing what you are best at.My…[Read more]

@tara another voice here reiterating that you're most certainly not alone. And I was so proud of you for your last podcast (I hope that doesn't sound patronising, because I really don't mean it to!) and being so open and honest. The things that you said really resonated with me, as for much of it you could have been describing me too. Virtual…[Read more]

Thank you @karen-whooley, @kimberley-bridgwater and @karen-robinson for the welcomes. Kimberley, thank you, my dad is doing well, regaining the use of his right hand and leg gradually and his speech is good. Mum doesn't drive and the hospital is the other side of the city so it would be very awkward for her to get there without me. But then I want…[Read more]

@sarah1213424: Yup, copy editor but not tech editor. I'm perfectly happy copy editing fiction books but don't really want to do tech editing (though I seriously considered it for a while). (ETA: The only place my fiber business and copy editing business overlap is the copy editing I do for PLY Magazine. Otherwise, they are two completely separate…[Read more]

Welcome @sarah1213424 to the Starship!
You are one of many introverts here. The community aspects of the Starship are great too. There is always someone doing the same course or able to answer questions.

Thank you, @karen-robinson. I just read your intro and was thrilled to see that you are a copy editor, too! Or is it copyeditor? Isn't it funny how there is no definitive way to write our job title?

Welcome, @jennie1408248 and @sara1130893!
Welcome also @sarah1213424. It's great to see you here. I'm so happy that you introduced yourself to me at DFW Fiber Fest earlier this year. I've enjoyed following you on Instagram, and it's so wonderful to see your business growing.

Hello! My name is Sarah Walworth. I live about an hour north of Dallas in a small rural town with my husband, three teenagers, and a crazy but smart Australian Shepherd named Rosie. I've been homeschooling my kids for 12 years and along the way picked up knitting again to keep myself sane while they worked on their lessons. As they gained some…[Read more]

Welcome @jennie1408248 and @sara1130893 to the Starship!
@jennie1408248, I hope your father's recovery is quick and smooth. I'm sure your mother enjoys and appreciates your help.
@sara1130893, wow! I don't know how you manage the administration and production for three businesses!

Hi everyone! As I mentioned a couple weeks ago – I have been nervous and procrastinating on my 45 minute presentation for SewPro convention. I would really love your questions and honest feedback about my presentation. I hope it's obvious that I will be using these slides as reminders of more in-depth examples and conversations about my topics,…[Read more]
