@jill-maldonado I live in Canada. When do you need the pattern? I can knit up a quick swatch and write up a wash cloth pattern fairly quickly.
Alternatively, if you have a ruler, we can figure out the yarn weight by determining the WPI (wraps per inch). There is a quick explanation of how do do that here. Then I can swatch on my end with…[Read more]

Hi @dana-gervais. The amount of yarn included can be decided once the project is selected. Because I work with reclaimed textiles, the fiber content is never exactly the same. Safe to say a poly/cotton blend. The yarn is thick. (how does one gauge yarn?) I cut it into 1 1/2″ strips which curls in on itself as I pull it and wind it – so, something…[Read more]

@jill-maldonado How much yarn is included in each kit? Is it cotton? A simple garter st wash cloth is probably the way to go. To write out instructions, the designer would need to know the size of the needles and the t-shirt yarn (for gauge). I'm happy to help if I can.

@dana-gervais that is a SERIOUSLY cute bunny! I'm looking to have fewer parts and pieces though. (just the t-shirt yard, needles and project bag). Good idea though! Keep 'em coming!

Thank you @susan-heyn I have yet to master crochet! I can do a simple embellishment or edging, but that's it.

That bunny is adorable @dana-gervais! I crochet but still haven't mastered even the basics of knitting.

I have taught knitting at my local elementary school. We knit simple garter stitch squares and then ran the bind off tail in a triangle and it forms a bunny. Seriously, a bunny. Then we stuff the bunny, sew the seam (just one seam) and glue a pom pom tail and eyes onto the bunny. There is a photo of the finished bunnies on my instagram feed.…[Read more]

@jill-wolcott I know! Illustrations would help, but a lot of the kits out there seem to link to a how-to video for casting on. Thanks for weighing in!

@jill-wolcott, so sorry about the business break-up with your sister! It is even worse with family since it carries over into your private life.
@Riin: Well “I do ALL the colors!” would be a selling point, too. But I agree with Jill that too many colors induce overwhelm (I could watch this with each person entering the Wollmeise store…).

@Riin, what about emailing them your logo, so they can put that up on their website?
And about attitude: Of course HFY is mention-worthy! It is a sign of quality of the shop that they have it. You are not begging them to be nice to you, it is an honor that they can sell your yarn. -
