Great idea to work with Patreon!
I like your treats but the last one – can you reformulate it?Give you free access to any one of my classes (in the first month you join): Craft Your Marketing ($199 value) Pay Yourself ($199 value) or Wrangle Your Time ($99 value)
It is silly but when I read it it felt stingy (is that the right word?). You list…[Read more]

Hey everyone! I've found the right thing for me and want to let you all know! I am LOVING trello! I've set up boards that help me track orders, track wholesale leads, stay on top of existing wholesale customers, organize production, manage event applications and my show schedule. I LOVE it!!! Most of this stuff you can do for free, but I've opted…[Read more]

For me, I would be interested in how to take time off for a vacation / summer holidays. Like how to scale back for 2-6 weeks without income dropping or things collapsing. For me it endangers up being “well okay, I'll just check emails and that's it. Oh but I have to still post to social media. Okay so I'll just check emails and post to social…[Read more]

Interesting approach. My line of thinking was exactly the opposite: People can buy single patterns and make stuff and then they will want to have all of them…
But I still don't understand what you mean by “full blown book” – or what a not full blown book is in comparison. Can you explain?

Patreon has said that the $1-7 tiers are the most popular, so I would suggest a $1 taster tier, even if it's just “thanks, you rock!” and a few posts a month they can see vs the whole patron feed.
Texts from Tara! That's a cute idea, though as one of your inner circle peeps I find it weird that you're reassuring me about not getting my phone #.…[Read more]

I love this idea, since I do print the guide when I use it, and am happy to answer questions if I can.

Time Off: How to Take Leave (But Not of Your Senses)
If you were feeling specific at all, I'd love to see a sidebar about Etsy and how to handle the search rankings downfall of Vacation Mode.

I'm sorry I missed this part of the chat, it sounds lovely! (I got logged out & then had to run off to a dr appt, so I was embodying the hot mess principles). Perhaps I could do some sort of Hot Mess coloring page(s)! Food for thought, anyway, once things get more cohesive.

I love this idea! I reminds me of Leoni Dawson's workbook, but specific for makers!!

This is very helpful, Jill! It helps me see that the $9-$22 isn't well-enough defined!
And thanks for the reminder to look at Knitty's!(Note to everyone else: I'm editing these all the time, so it may look different when you see it, than when the previous people commented!)

I love this @tara but I'm not sure I understand the pricing. $2, $9, $22. I get the $2, I even get the $55 or $99–those are people who want access but don't want to do the stuff. But it seems like kind of a vacant area between $2 and $55, although this would seem like the place most people will go. Do you listen to public radio? I think this…[Read more]

For a while I've known that there is a BIG percentage (the majority, probably) of my audience who just isn't right for the Starship. It's either not the right format for them, or they don't have the time, energy or money to spend a year focusing on their biz. THat is A-OK. In fact, I want to do an even better job of helping people opt OUT of the…[Read more]

@kimberley-bridgwater thanks so much for that recommendation. I will check them out. I think it's a lesson you need to learn the hard way – like putting off backup and losing everything. Lesson well and truly learned here!

@tara, these are my questions:
How do you plan ahead, so things can be created to happen while you're gone.
What to do if you cannot plan ahead?
What if you plan everything, but then there is some problem that you now are in no position to deal with?
What can you do to get your customers rooting, supporting, helping you while you are…[Read more]
