I'm launching the pre-orders for my newest collection of sun-melted glass jewelry, and I'd love some help sharing it (I'm also doing a giveaway).
Sundrop Jewelry is made from recycled bottles and stained glass melted with sunshine and a giant magnifying glass, and finished with recycled sterling silver. This collection is called Circular Motion,…[Read more]

I love this idea, because that is kind of what I am already doing in a binder. I would love to have it as a yearly book, maybe something you would get when you sign up for the Starship. It could contain the quarter map planning, monthly and quarterly reassessments all in one place. I would be happy with a single quarter planner, too.
I don't…[Read more]

I really agree with all the topics listed above, and would love a focus on the psychological aspects of taking a break: how to turn off the “game on” mode and really rest, what to accomplish inwardly on your break, and how to ramp back up to work mode without going crazy.

Don't take this the wrong way, but the “fingerpost” quote is not from C.S. Lewis, but from Charles Kettering. I am a bit of a C.S. Lewis nerd and he gets misquoted all the time. See blog post here for more info on Kettering, who was awesome in his own right: http://tinyurl.com/j6kpyjy

If you are working with a book publisher, then I had no doubt @tanja-osswald.
Anyone have any thoughts out there for me? @tara?

Whatcha workin on?
I've been too busy to check in for several weeks! Yikes!
Let's see, I'm working on a booth redesign, making jewelry, just finished turning in all the results for spinzilla, picked out packaging for kits, and a ton more that isn't coming to mind right now. Oh! Getting stuff ready for Quivers!
What’s going well?
Bit by bit t…[Read more]

I think “How to take Time Out without the Fall Out” or something – there are a TON of reasons for folks to need a break from their biz, some planned, many unplanned (Dh with broken wrist, kid dropping out of third school in as many years etc). So nothing too specific perhaps in the actual title.
– How to schedule so the biz doesn't collapse over a…[Read more] -

and yes, I think you are totally right about too many options being confusing. Sigh. I'm wondering if it is worth splashing out for a one-to-one with @tara so I get this right…

I like the idea a LOT – I'm not sure I can continue Starship next year 🙁 so this might help me out. I love the idea of texts from Tara as sometimes that's enough to help me focus. I agree with all the other feedback, especially about the swag – what ties in with your teaching? A coffee mug for the important caffeine working buzz? A couple of pens…[Read more]

Here in the US we have booklets or leaflet styl books. Many indie designers do this too. The are smaller books that are stapled usually or in PDF form that have anywhere from 4-12 patterns in them. There really isn't much else inside them and even though a lot of people call them books, they are not.
A full blown book has a whole section on…[Read more]

I got my book today! It is all shiny and pretty and I had to help the postman carry up the boxes since I ordered 50 for myself… It is in German, so of no use to most of you. This is just for saying yay. 🙂 Next week, it will be in the bookstores. 🙂

I just released two new patterns, Meandros Mosaic Mitts and Calatrava Cable Headband.
My new “Adventures in Knitting” patterns provide a map to learn a new technique while making your project. Each pattern provides the pattern instructions, charts, technique overview, technique “how-to,” tutorials, and “keys for success.”
The Meandros Mosaic…[Read more]
