That's awesome, @shelley-husband! I'm glad you were able to get feedback from your customers so quickly and it sounds like you've got a really solid plan. It'll make a fantastic Christmas gift!
Good luck with it!!! -

Wow, @katherine-sanders it is looking awesome!!!
I think it's usually pretty customary to pay a deposit up front and then the full amount later, though it's also customary to have that deposit be pretty large (about 20% of the total fee they'll eventually pay, or so). So you could always increase the deposit price point so you'd be more likely to…[Read more]

It STILL won't let me link to the site. Hey ho. If you can follow the link that @jess-cook posted, it should show you the new and improved page complete with automatic ticket sales

Tanja Osswald replied to the topic Question about Wholesale Request from Etsy Seller in the forum Engineering 8 years, 8 months ago
What strikes me odd about selling to an online seller is this: You sell your things online, to normal customers, right? If you sell wholesale to another online shop, isn't that like having your direct competitors making your sales? What would be your benefit in this?
I think it is totally okay to have a policy to just sell wholesale to brick and…[Read more] -

Hi Jess! Right, I have done some heavy work on the page today: the detailed info now sits on a separate page with links from the original sales page.
One thing I'm not sure about: Do I want everyone to pay the full price up front OR just the deposit? I don't want to get into a situation where there's a ton of buttons and options. I do need people…[Read more] -

Tanja Osswald replied to the topic Raising my Prices is Paralyzing me!!! in the forum Engineering 8 years, 8 months ago
Maybe to give you some perspective on prices: On the one hand, most stitch markers I buy are cheaper than yours. On the other hand, in a local craft chain (they sell everything, canvas, colors, clay, pearls, wire, polyfill, polymer clay, craft books, sometimes even yarn…), they sell little pendants with lobster claws, just like your stitch…[Read more]

Ann Tudor started the topic Question about Wholesale Request from Etsy Seller in the forum Engineering 8 years, 8 months ago
I am getting wholesale requests from local yarn shops, which is exactly what I want. When a request comes in, I look to see where the store is located and look at their website. Every store has been great! Today I received a request from a company that found me on IG. I could not find them through a google search. I went to IG, found their…[Read more]

Ann, you helped me with my price paralysis so I felt I needed to chime in here even though I'm not a regular knitter. I wouldn't balk at the 20% increase prices even for something I know I wouldn't necessarily use all of the time so I say go for it! It's so much easier being on the advice giving side of this issue. 🙂

Personally, I'm very fond of Zitron Lifestyle (or Unisono or Seidenstrasse) but I'm not sure whether they are worsted. Maybe more DK?

Apologies for the late notice, but I'm wrapping up episode two of the new season of my podcast, which is all about yarn for the Basic Cable pullover. If you have a worsted weight yarn you would like me to suggest, let me know ASAP. I will include a list of recommended yarns in the show notes and newsletter that go out tomorrow (10/27) night. Whatcha workin on?
Pushed along by Linda, I launched my Patreon site last weekend. It is kind of addictive to fiddle around with it.
I'm more or less done with my list for this month, so I'm doing a lot more household stuff and I spend quite some time crocheting (I wanna finish a skirt for the next craft meeting, the first weekend of…[Read more] -

what's going well?
Things are still quite focused for my technology business. Deadlines are in sight and they feel good. I got out to Starbucks this morning and it was blissfully quiet and I made nice progress on catching up with myself.
Without active effort I'm selling patterns so that's nice. Tidying that up is part of what I'm working on…[Read more]
