Actual first thing I spend a couple of hours blinking at the world like a zombie, but post-zombie-time I do the creative thing first, because if I do the frog first I won't have any energy left to be creative afterward. Though I do often get a second wind at night, where I'll do sitting-at-the-computer creativity (like writing) instead of making art.

CC, I've got a package, containing 30 buttons each for ColorJoy and TossItTeam.com, ready. It's got postage and customs paperwork and it's sitting on my table, ready to drop off tomorrow. The USPS thinks you'll get it November 2 which is Wednesday.

It is always good to listen to your gut feeling!
You don't have to state that policy on your website, even. Just be clear about it for yourself, so whenever you get a request, you don't have to re-think the matter. -

Thanks for all your answers!
Most days, it is frogs first for me, too. But I totally enjoy the days when I have a reason to put fun first (because, just sometimes, fun activities just are more important than the nasty things). It feels so luxurious to start with something creative right in the morning. -

On the days I know I have a lot to do, I do the hard stuff first. I write them in my planner to tackle first. I feel much better knowing those things are done.
But I've also started scheduling in a creative day so I can get all excited and just play without the weight of hard things hanging over me.

Gah! My whole response just got deleted! Ok, short version:
I raised my prices last year (simplest earrings from $25 retail to $39), then bumped them to $45 this summer. It was so scary, and it feels like everything is super-slow because I'm getting a lot fewer orders. But my 2015 gross was the highest ever (I've been in business almost 12…[Read more]

I guess I am the swallow the frog type of person. I need to get all the “stuff” done so I can create, otherwise I am not able to focus as well.

I like to recommend Cascade 220 to an audience with a varied demographic: it's affordable, widely available, comes in a lot of colours, provides consistent quality and shows stitch definition very well.

I read it last night. It's awesome. I'm going to take some time over the next few weeks and fill in the worksheets. I would love to reach the point where I can disappear from my business for a week and not worry that I won't have a business to come back to.

I like eat the frog first, too, otherwise it weighs on my mind and I feel distracted. I also have issues focusing if my physical environment is cluttered, so I start my day by tidying up my space.

Ann Tudor replied to the topic Question about Wholesale Request from Etsy Seller in the forum Engineering 8 years, 8 months ago
That is what I was thinking @tanja-osswald. I am trying to look at this from all angles. If I sold strictly to wholesalers, this would not be an issue but I do sell through my website directly to customers. Yes, I could make a policy stating that solely online resellers are excluded. I work with several people like yourself with special…[Read more]

I am aware of polymer clay progress markers that are $9 a piece so I am definitely not the most expensive. My goal also is not to be the mass marketer of all stitch markers so I am working on my internal head stuff. I appreciate that comparison @tanja-osswald.

I'm going through wrangle your time right now. Almost rebelled when Tara said in lesson 2 to schedule the things I don't like doing for my chunk of work time.

Recently, I've read a couple of times that people start their day with the creative tasks, so they can us a fresh brain for it. From other people I know they feel best if they do a couple of hard tasks first, things they'd otherwise spend time to avoid (the German expression for this kind of task is to swallow a frog), so the rest of the day feels…[Read more]
