I agree that a page on your website would work best because it would be easiest to update, and this is the kind of information that would benefit from updates. Interesting. I would deal differently with such a calender, i.e. I would not download it but check it now and then and rely on you to update it regularly. @riin-gill, an impressive shift!

You can use it as both. I put stuff on my website so people can find it if they look, but also use it as newsletter stuff. People don't mind that it isn't “exclusive”. Took me ages to understand this.

I agree with Dana… maybe to drive traffic to your site make it on your site but only viable with a link in the opt-in?

If it were me, I would use it as an opt-in. If it's on your website, I'll visit your site, download the calendar and leave (and probably not come back) but if it's an opt-in, you have the opportunity to connect with those designers again, in their inbox, with more valuable information that will convince them you are an awesome editor and they…[Read more]

Useful: I'm a crochet designer, so it would be useful for me if you added in info about knit only or knit/ crochet.
For access, I second Karen, put it on your website if you want to drive traffic there.
Besides, if you want people to find you, it is easier to get referred to your website than to a newsletter list.
